ROPS Engineering is a family owned Australian company dedicated to providing quality services and products manufactured in accordance with national and international standards.
Some of the many standards our products and services conform to include AS2294 parts 1-4, AS1636, ISO 12117:2008, ISO 3471:2008 ISO 3449:2005, ISO 21299:2009, ISO12003:2008, ISO 5700:2006, ISO 3463.
ROPS / FOPS
Roll-Over Protective Structures and Falling Object Protective Structures are structures whose primary purpose is to reduce the possibility of an operator who is wearing a seat belt in accordance with AS2664, ISO 6683 or SAEJ386 from being crushed or otherwise injured should the machine roll over or be struck by a falling object.

TOTAL ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING SOLUTIONS
ROPS Engineering can manufacture steel products and give complete solutions. Services include design and drafting, engineered testing and certification, fabrication, blast and paint and final installation all under one roof. This one stop shop approach significantly reduces the time from conception to completion, and offers considerable convenience by having all stages of the services completed by one company.
TESTING FACILITY
Our test facility has completed destructive testing for ROPS and FOPS and provided
certification in accordance with international standards to projects for both local machinery
suppliers and international heavy machinery manufacturers. All the testing is overseen by an
independent engineer to guarantee there is no conflict of interest between the products ROPS
Engineering manufacture and the testing carried out on those products. All ROPS and or FOPS
must be destructively tested in accordance with their respective standards. ROPS Engineering’s
test facility is not just limited to testing ROPS and FOPS but can also be used to carry out other
forms of destructive testing for different engineering and manufacturing applications.
RIGID OFF HIGHWAY VEHICLE ROPS AND FOPS
Rops Engineering is fast becoming a market leader in the supply and fitment of ROPS and ROPS/FOPS to trucks working off highway. ROPS Engineering have designed, tested and certified ROPS to suit all makes and models of trucks from small field service vehicles to large prime movers. We have built an unrivalled reputation with our customers for quality and service with the fastest delivery time in the industry.
ROPS Engineering has an average delivery time of 2-3 days, with several models being delivered back to the customer in the same day; this is a service of which we are extremely proud. This is due to our ability to complete the entire job in house and not rely on outside contractors.
All ROPS Engineering ROPS and ROPS/FOPS structures are designed, destructively tested, manufactured, fitted and certified in accordance with ISO 3471:2008 and ISO 3449:2005. A certification plate displaying the relevant information is attached to each structure in accordance with the standard.
DESIGN
The ROPS Engineering design team are experienced in all aspects of CAD design and can produce ROPS and or FOPS to suit any kind of self propelled machinery. The design team utilises the extensive manufacturing experience in our workshop, the tooling and machinery available and our combined knowledge of ROPS and FOPS when designing protective structures.
Compliance to the required standards is always a priority when designing a protective structure, but the aesthetics of the machinery/vehicle must also be taken into account. This is where our design team excels. Once the design of the structure is completed, a detailed set of manufacturing drawings are produced and a prototype is fabricated ready for testing in accordance with the specific ISO, SAE or AS standards.
MEETING ALL YOUR REQUIREMENTS
ROPS Engineering can help you with all your vehicle fit outs from simple
modifications and repairs to complete body restorations and mine spec fitouts.
All blasting and painting are completed inhouse to better manage the complete
process and enure a quick delivery schedule.

LIGHTWEIGHT ROPS
ROPS Engineering have designed a series of lightweight ROPS Structures to aid in reducing
the weight loading over the front axle and increasing the carrying capacity of the vehicle.
This was completed with the finished product weighing 70Kg less than our previous model.
The Lightweight ROPS was designed to suit a vehicle with a tare weight of 3000Kg and with
the ROPS weighing in at a fitted weight of 150Kg (fitted weight is dependant on vehicle
model and may vary slightly).
At Rops Engineering we can supply Roll Over Protective Structures (ROPS) to suit any vehicle and its application.
CHERRY PICKER ROPS
ROPS Engineering are experts in the
process of ROPS design. The ROPS
pictured here was specifically designed to
suit vehicles with a chassis mounted cherry
picker. The Rops canopy has to be split to
allow the cherry picker to fold away when
not in use.
ROPS AND SUBFRAME
The ROPS pictured here has had the
mountings lifted 100mm to allow for the
crane sub frame to follow the chassis under
the cab. The subframe was also fabricated,
painted and fitted by ROPS Engineering.
ROPS - ROLL OVER PROTECTIVE STRUCTURES - ISO 3471
All ROPS can be upgraded to ROPS / FOPS Certification
LOW CLEARANCE ROPS / FOPS
These Rops are designed to keep the
overall height of a vehicle to a minimum and
when they are upgraded to a ROPS / FOPS
the canopy creates considerably less drag
in the lowered position.
The ROPS canopy can be lifted to tilt the
cab for service or repairs when required.
This action is operated from ground level by
an electric over hydraulic system.
FOPS - FALLING OBJECT PROTECTIVE STRUCTURES - ISO 3449
SLEEPER CAB ROPS/FOPS
ROPS Engineering was contracted to design and manufacture a ROPS/FOPS in accordance with
ISO 3471:2008 and ISO 3449:2005 to suit a Kenworth 904 Prime Mover with an integrated high top
sleeper cab. The customer put a huge emphasis on the ROPS/FOPS not changing the original look
of the vehicle and so the structure had to be in keeping with the shape and style of the 904 whilst still
meeting the stringent testing and other requirements set by the relevant ISO standards.
The exhausts were relocated to the rear of the cab and the ROPS/FOPS structure was mounted in
place of the original exhausts. The design allowed for the old exhaust shrouds to be remounted to
the sides of the cab and mask a major part of the ROPS/FOPS structure. This structure has been
applied to several prime movers of similar style with great customer feedback.

This Kenworth sleeper cab was designed to
give a factory fitted look. The canopy was
curved to suit the contour of the sleeper cab
and with the Kenworth exhaust shrouds fitted
to the ROPS / FOPS legs and the original
exhaust moved to the rear of the sleeper cab
this was accomplished.
