Holland State Park is nestled in theHistoric Ottawa Beach Community.

The first purchase of property wasThe Lake Michigan Unit in Dec. 1926.

The Lake Macatawa Unit was purchased in 1965 to provide additional camping, access to Lake Macatawa and office/shop/housing for the staff.

In 2008 construction was completed on the Dune Climb Walkway to the top of Mt. Pisgah in co-operation with Ottawa County Parks

Holland State Park is host to over 1.5 M Visitors a year

Traffic into the park can back up so coming to the park in the AM or later PM is advised.

The park is known for it’s view of “BIG RED” the Holland Light House. A bath house is also available with full concession, change courts, rest rooms and a rentable shelter.

There are many recreational activities available at the park.

Kite Flying is a Spring-Fall activity enjoyed by young and old.

Fishing lessons for the children are offered during the summer.

Holland area also offers dinner cruises on an old fashion paddle boat.

Explorer Rangers offer several fun and educational programs throughout the week in the summer.

Biking is another family activity enjoyed by those visiting the park.

Ottawa County has extensive bike trails allowing visitors to bike throughout the county visiting other city, county, township and state parks.

Extensive wildlife can also be viewed at the park.

Deer, small mammals, and migratory birds along with eagles, hawks and more.

Every fall the fall festival is a big hit with the campers.

Costumed Candy Collection are a big hit with families.

Many people come just to enjoy the sunsets

The park is open year round.

In the winter people can enjoy the view in a much different way.

The ice is always changing with each wave.

The park home to two of the busiest campgrounds in the state.

Lake Macatawa Campground is a traditional campground with electric and fire pits on each site.

Campers for both campground check in at the Lake Macatawa Unit Campground office.

The 100 site Beach Campground is more of a Recreational Vehicle Campground with 32 site that have water, sewer, and up to 50 AMP electric. Tents and pop-ups are allowed on the pavement.

Two camper cabins are also available for rent year round!
