3 TELEVISED MASS
The Diocese of La Crosse office of Sacred Worship has contacted our parish to see if we would be interested in hosting the televised Mass over the summer. This would take a bit of commitment from 20 to 30 parishioners in order to fulfill the various roles, including music, serving and a number in at-tendance. The Mass would be pre-recorded on Wednes-day July 8th in Eastman, beginning around 8:00, and would take approximately 2 hours to complete. They ask for a Piano player or organist, a cantor and as many choir members as we can. In addition, we would need 15 to 20 in the congregation. If you would be interested, please let Lana or Sandy know so we can make arrangements. They need to know by the end of this week so they can get everything lined up. Thank you for your consideration. ORDINATION Next Saturday, June 27 at 10:30 AM at St Jo-seph the Worker Cathedral in downtown La Crosse Deacons Mark Miller and Dan Thelon will be or-dained to the priesthood. We at Holy Family have been blessed to have these two men serve at our par-ish for a time during their formation. This is a very special event in the life of a young man called to serve as a priest, but it is also a very special event for our church as well. Ordinations are open to anyone that would like to attend, so please do not think you need a special invitation to attend. If you are free on Satur-day morning and have a desire to attend, please come to the Cathedral for this special event. A hint: if you are coming, plan on arriving at least a half hour in advance. HAPPY FATHERS DAY This Sunday is Father’s Day in the United States. This is a celebration that is fairly new, beginning in the early 1900’s, and not being officially recognized as a na-tional holiday until 1972. Originally, believe it or not, Fa-ther’s Day was not created to sell drills or grills or shavers. It was meant as a day to honor the self-sacrifice and love of a father for his spouse and his children. Something we need today in a very special way. Our culture today has the family and fatherhood specifically, squarely in its sights, and is seeking to marginalize this important role in society. Take advantage of the opportunity this Father’s Day offers; for some, this will be your last chance to celebrate this spe-cial day with your father. Happy Father’s Day to all father’s in our lives.
