- For most of you, McDonalds is just a place to grab something
quick to eat. For me it is an institution that has been around
practically my entire life. I grew up with McDonalds much the same
way that you grew up with ESPN, Apple Computers and Facebook.
McDonalds is a way of life for me. They set the standards of the
fast food industry and everyone wanted to be like them. Much like
Dell or Microsoft today. Coupled with the fact that this was my
first job in life, and I started as a crew person, at the bottom of
the ladder, and worked my way up to supervising 3 Restaurants doing
over 4 million dollars a year. This presentation is very personal
for me, and the information that I am going to share with you is
life that I lived through. 2

- Our College Degree Program Our College Degree Program The
American Council on Education (ACE) is the nation's unifying body
for higher education. They have recognized the investment McDonalds
has made in people and the companys high-caliber training
curriculum. Hamburger University students can earn credit toward a
college degree through their course work. The American Council on
Education has recommended 100 percent of the restaurant manager and
mid-management curriculum for college credit a total of 46 credits.
This means that McDonald's training for Managers is now recognized
as college- level course work, eligible for credits that can be
transferred to colleges and universities (both private and public)
and applied toward a 2 or 4-year degree. The average restaurant
manager has completed the equivalent of approximately 21 credit
hours of college-level work through their McDonalds training, which
is equal to about one semester of college. We continue to work with
colleges and universities to leverage our partnership with the
American Council on Education.
