What we want to build

• Areva/EDF evolutionary design

• Pressurised water reactor

(like Sizewell B)

• 2 x 1630 MW (electrical)

• Each can supply around 2.5m homes

• Uses 17% less uranium and produces less waste

• Under construction in France

• c. 900 operating staff

• 60 year operating life

Notes

• Rates are calculated in accordance with RIDDOR 1995 definitions (ie injuries resulting in more than 3 days absence from work.

• Rates are rolling twelve month averages.

• HPC trace starts at award of FID. (October 2016)

• Other projects’ AFR rates are shown at same relative time on project schedule.

• For comparison , Tideway AFR-3 for March 2018 = 0.10; HPC AFR-3 for March 2018 = 0.05.
