March 2017 - The First Nuclear Safety Concrete pour at Hinkley Point C

May 2017 - North West area of site with heavy haul road and material crushing operations in the foreground

June 2017 - Inspection of the rock formation before blinding concrete is applied

July 2017 - Work continues on the jetty with girders being installed to bridge the crosshead saddles

The jetty when complete will allow all aggregate to be delivered by sea

October 2017 - Work continues on the HPC on-site accommodation campus

November 2017 - Progress of Unit 1 Nuclear Island pre-stressing gallery trench construction

December 2017 – The sixth and final project goal of 2017 was achieved with the start of the installation of the CRF cooling

water pipes.

December 2017 - Two sections of the CRF pipes are welded into couples before they are moved to the platform

January 2018- Enabling team celebrating completion and handover of the foundations for Unit 1 Nuclear Island

Comparison of Safety Performance

• Rates are calculated in accordance with RIDDOR 1995 definitions (ie injuries resulting in more than 3 days absence from work.

• Rates are rolling twelve month averages.

• HPC trace starts at award of FID. (October 2016)

• Other projects’ AFR rates are shown at same relative time on project schedule.

• For comparison , Tideway AFR-3 for March 2018 = 0.10; HPC AFR-3 for March 2018 = 0.05.
