Annual Benefit Dinner Tuesday, September 17, 2019
The Sacred Heart Foundation is pleased to announce Fr. Frank Natale, MSC as our Guest Speaker for this year’s
Annual Benefit Dinner on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Water town, NY.
Born on May 19, 1979, Fr. Natale graduated from Canton South High School in
1998. He attended Stark State College of Technology. He began thinking of service
to the Church while in high school but initially attended a local technical school.
He began his training to become a priest at Our Lady of the Lake University in
San Antonio, Texas and graduated in 2006 with a degree in philosophy. He spent a
year in spiritual formation with the MSC community in Australia and made his first
profession of vows in December 2007. He professed his life-long vows as a
member of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart in 2011 at his hometown parish in
Canton. In preparation for his ordination to the priesthood, Father Natale earned a
Masters of Divinity degree from Catholic Theological Union in 2012.
He was ordained a deacon in August 2012 and was ordained to the priesthood on June 29, 2013, in St. Joseph
Church by the Most Rev. George V. Murray, SJ, Bishop of the Youngstown Diocese. Father Natale is currently
serving as the Parochial Vicar at Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
We are very proud to have Father Frank Natale with us. Tickets can be purchased from any Board or Honorary
Council member, calling the office, visiting our website, or completing the form below and mailing it to the
Foundation. The annual dinner is one of the Foundation’s biggest fundraisers of the year. Funds raised, help
support our mission of providing scholarships to MSC seminarians. This year $88,500 in funds was awarded to
57 seminarians around the world.

President’s Remarks
I would like to thank our donors near and far for all of the support for
our 4th Annual Frank Caprara Golf Tournament. A lot of time and
effort goes into making it a success and we could not do it without all
of you. With the golf tournament behind us we can now focus on our
Annual Benefit Dinner on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at the Hilton
Garden Inn.
The mission of the Sacred Heart Foundation is important, and what
we do is important. It is because of our members and the support they give us that
we are able to do what we do. I also want to thank Sabrina in our Foundation
office for doing an excellent job.
Be sure to take your time going though the newsletter so you don’t miss out an
any of the exciting news and events. Check us out on Channel 7 Morning News
coming up on August 19, 2019.
If you are considering a charitable contribution this year, it is in your best interest to
seek out the most effective manner in which your money can work for you. Gifting
appreciated stock is one of the most effective means of tax savings available. There
are three benefits for you to consider: 1) The satisfaction of knowing your money is
invested in a cause important to you. 2) Capital gains taxes on the stock are avoided.
3) You will be eligible to receive an income tax charitable deduction for the full fair
market value of the stock at the time of the gift.
To qualify for those special tax advantages, the security must have been held for at
least one year. Your gift of appreciated stock is fully deductible up to 30% of your
adjusted gross income. For example, if your adjusted gross income is $100,000, up
to $30,000 of long term appreciated stock and other capital gain property may
generally be deducted, although high income donors may be subject to a partial
phase out of itemized deductions.

Sacred Heart Foundation at (315) 782-3344 or visit our website to submit a sponsorship form. Forms
are due by August 1, 2019.
This year we will be running a circular in the Watertown Daily Times. The ad will be larger than
previous years for the same price. We hope you will support the Annual Benefit Dinner as a Sponsor.

brothers of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart everywhere.
The turnout was great this year and everyone had a good time.

and people like you that we are able to do what we do. A giant
thank you to Mel Bussler and the Watertown Daily Times for

helps raise awareness of the Foundation and its mission.
Thank you to all of the volunteers and staff that helped
the tournament come together and run smoothly. The donation of

Getting to know those YOU support
Juan Gabriel Corona Estévez is from Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican
Republic. Juan tells us what attracted him to the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart “I
thank God for having met the MSC, because in this congregation I was inspired by
its spirituality of the heart of Jesus, its work always in favor of the most needy, its
fraternity life, anywhere I could be on mission.” Some of Juan’s hobbies are reading,
singing, listening to music and photography. Juan is currently in his first year of
Theology.
Diego Ivan Lagos is from Bogota, Colombia. Diego tells us what attracted him to
the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart is the charisma of its members who are always
willing to help people in a disinterested way and with joy. Diego enjoys reading and
spending time with his family. Some of his hobbies include playing soccer and
horseback riding. Diego is currently in his 9th semester of Philosophy.
Please keep Juan and Diego as well as all our scholarship recipients in your prayers as they continue in
their studies. Thank you for all your support. It is through your donations that we are able to provide
the financial support they need.
