NOTE: Each UF Health supervisor may supervise one or two interns per semester (one to two interns

max per area/unit/specialty).

Example:

•1- 2 interns for Mother baby/Lactation

•1-2 interns for Pediatric areas

•1-2 interns for Trauma

• Revise education pre-transplant handbook and evaluation packet.

• Assist with education of patients before and after transplant.

• Along with the site supervisor, see patients in Pulmonary Function Lab before bronchoscopies & in clinic for weekly visits.

• Assist with data input (obtaining outpatient labs, updating patient charts with clinical information, etc.).

Program

• Facilitate production of audiotaped patient/family educational materials for visually impaired or illiterate patients.

• Gather information on pancreas transplantation and assist in developing patient/family educational materials.

• Assist in the development of various patient/family educational materials for adult and pediatric kidney & pancreas patients, as well as live kidney donors.

• Coordinate drafts of materials with publication companies.

• Assist in website development.

• Develop creative approaches to education of staff, students, and physicians about safety and avoidance of medical errors.

• Conduct mock JCAHO/Magnet unit surveys with staff to identify issues and provide real-time education to staff members.

• Develop educational materials, or staff presentations for staff and patients related to other identified quality initiatives (restraint use; falls; pain; medication error reduction, etc.).
