Where we work

Marine Based Above and Below water Mapping

H2H’s Land and Water Based Mobile Mapping Equipment

- Land based mapping shown is a truck mounted laser scanning system to rapidly pick up survey points in a 360 field of view

- Marine system couples laser scanning mounted on the truck with high resolution multibeam sonar

Land Based Mapping Indoor, Undercover and Underground Mapping

- Indoor and underground mapping allows for highly accurate mapping in below ground areas or under cover areas that can be accessed by foot

Primary Components

Land Based Mobile Mapping

• Portable Laser Scanner• Digital Camera• Internal IMU• Internal GPS• GPS Base Station/VRS Internet connection• Rugged – All weather mapping!!

- A typical land based crew on site to collect physical inventory data- Truck mounted Mobile laser scanning- GPS used to determine boundaries and as an independent qa qc check - Can be used in all weather conditions

5

Types of Mobile Mapping (Terrestrial)

View from the control system during mobile mapping

• View data while surveying• Ensure all data that is necessary is collected• Validate results visually and through quality

assurance algorithms

• Latest tools can survey at 60 mph with 2cm accuracy

Example 3D fully colorized point could of a stockpile yard.

H2H completes physical inventories (aggregate, salt, industrial minerals, wood chips, dredged material, etc.)

• 150 sites, 5,000 piles/yr

• Materials valued over $250 million

• Repeatability of pile <1%

• 10 states

• Utilize 4 mapping tools

2 - Fixed Wing Aerial Mapping (UAS)

H2H’s Aerial Mapping Equipment

Quad Rotor Wing Aerial Mapping (UAS)

- Aerial mapping allows for a drone to fly a site and gather survey and photo data from the air

9

Primary Components

UAS Mobile Mapping (Components)

• 20 mp Digital Camera or Thermal or Multispectral Camera• Internal IMU• Internal GPS• Laptop for flight plan development and inflight tracking• High-end computers for post flight processing

FAA Exemption for commercial laws

• Apply to aircraft under 55lbs• Must maintain visual line of sight (unaided)• May not operate over anyone not directly involved in the operation• Daylight only• Max speed of 100mph• Max altitude of 400 ft• Must obtain knowledge certification

- Aerial mapping with the drone uses similar components as land and water based. The IMU, GPS are at the heart of the system- Photos are collected and post processing software is utilized to create orhtophotos and digital surface model- Highly weather dependent – dark, windy, rainy conditions can hamper a project

Geospatially referenced images, x,y,z coordinates and …

UAS Mobile Mapping – potential data sets

• Red Green Blue (RGB) – 3 band• Standard RGB data that allows for real

color renderings

• High resolution near infrared (NIR) – 3 band• Red, Green and NIR bandwidths• Commonly used to evaluate plant

biomass, plant health

• Red Edge (RE) – 3 band• Provides blue, green and red edge band.• Commonly used to evaluate stress,

chlorophyll concentration

• Thermal • Captures thermal image and videos• Commonly used to map water

distribution, impacts of shading

• Multispectral (MS) – 4 band• Provides, green, red, red edge, and NIR

with no overlap

• Multispectral – visible and non visible spectral bands plus RGB

11

• Pre plan flights• Simulate flights• Actual flight path controlled by GPS way points• Photos taken automatically

UAS Mobile Mapping (Flight Planning)

o Flight paths are loaded into controller softwareo Flight area viewed in real time on computer screeno Progress is monitored in real time

12

UAS Mobile Mapping (Post Processing)

1. Multiple overlapping and geotagged images are imported into software

2. Images are stitched together3. Ground location points are imported4. Millions of 3D measurements are made 5. Output (Dense 3d pointcloud and orthophoto)

UAS Based Photogrammetric Mapping 2015 - 2017Argos, USA Cementos Argos Panama and Colombia, South Carolina, Alabama, West Virginia

• Largest Cement Producer In Caribbean and Southeastern US – H2H has completed due diligence on over 4 Billion of acquisitions forArgos in last 4 years

• Responsible for establishing ground control, collecting aerial photographs, and post processing aerial images into 3D point clouds, • digital terrain models, and orthorectified images

• Mapping areas for these projects ranged from 50 acres to over a 6,000 acres

• State-of-the-art data transmission & processing infrastructure allowed for the delivery of valuable, realtime, and strategic geospatial information consisting of:

▪ Orthorectified aerial imagery▪ Topographic contours▪ Planimetrics▪ Wetlands extents▪ Digital terrain models

▪ Volumetric analysis▪ Economic analysis ▪ Spatial change analysis▪ Extents of vegetation▪ Surface water elevations

Project Scale – 20 acresAerial Project Example: Landfill Expansion Analysis Long Island, NY

Mobile Mapping (Indoor/Underground)

• New technology to the market (last 2 years)

• Easy to use, rugged

• Can survey 1-2 acres per hour of underground room and pillar operations

• Extremely portable (fits in small backpack)

• Range of 100 feet

• Collects dense point cloud= 30,000 points per sec

29

SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping)• Equation for solving the position of the instrument based on the surveyed environment

• Utilized in GPS starved environment

• IMU measures path

• Laser sensor measures distance and identifies landmarks

• Path and Landmark position are reconciled

• The more observations and landmarks the better the solution
