y Brass Quintet Encore!
..simply music to the ear of any performer when shouted out by an audience of enthusias-tic fans. We must be doing something right, as The U.S. Army Brass Quintet has a wonderful collection of encores in its repertoire—works we enjoy playing so much that we decided to present them all in a single album…fun for us, and we hope, for you, too.
This recording features encores of all styles and techniques—the spiritually charged and beautifully blended Clair de Lune; the exhilarating scale runs and technical brilliance of the opera overtures of Mozart and Glinka; the familiar beauties of Bach and Handel; the flowery artistry of the popular turn-of-the-century style; and the rich jazz-like strains of Gershwin.
The arrangements on this album were only possible thanks to the talents of several mem-bers of The U.S. Army Band who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the Brass Quintet has a showcase of music that is guaranteed to bring any audience to its feet!
