How to download Agent Software (Splunk forwarder)

1. Go to web site http://www.splunk.com/ then click at on the right hand site of

the screen.

2. Click to select installer the platform.

3. Need to register before you download Splunk.

4. After register successfully return to the installer screen, select the platform again. Screen will appear

for download.

5. and save file.

6. After download complete, Installing Agent Software (Splunk forwarder) on your computer.

How to install and configure the Agent Software (Splunk forwarder)

1. Open installer Agent Software (Splunk forwarder).

2. Click Next.

3. Select “I accept the terms in the license agreement” then click Next.

4. Click Next to install to default folder, or click change to install to a different folder.

5. Select “Local system user” and click Next.

6. Click Install to begin the installation.

7. Click Finish to complete the installation.

8. Go to Splunk => Username: admin, Password: changeme

9. Click “Manager” on the menu at the top right of the screen.

10. Click “Forwarding and receiving”.

11. Click “New”.

12. Enter IP address and Port of Server: 202.44.144.52:9997 to send log data and click Save

13. The page will display as below.

14. Click “Manager” on the menu and then click “Server controls”. And click “Restart Splunk”.

15. Click “OK”.

16. Wait to restart Splunk service complete, the agent software installation will be finish.
