• 1959: Michelin® creates the � rst Earthmover radial tire.

The world’s � rst and only specialized Earthmover tire test center.
• 1998: Michelin creates the � rst low-pro� le tire.
A tire designed to increase payload for large dump trucks.
• 2001: Michelin creates world’s largest tire.
The 59/80R63 XDR™ tire is designed for haul trucks.
• 2005: Michelin introduces the TWEEL™ non-pneumatic mobility concept.
A monoblock wheel assembly means that treads are linked by � exible polyurethane spokes, creating a revolutionary solution to puncture problems.

Our Markets
MICHELIN® Earthmover tires are designed for use on a varied and increasingly specialized range of machines in multiple applications and conditions. We serve a diverse range of customers—from giants of the world economy to small businesses, from users to retailers and machine manufacturers—everywhere in the world.
Our Products and Production Processes • From the smallest tire (12.3 lbs.) to the heaviest (13,779 lbs.), we have the largest range of tires on the market with 93 sizes and 50 tread designs. • More than 200 raw materials are present in each tire. • The manufacturing process for a single tire requires up to 48 hours.
DIVERSITY
MICHELIN® Earthmover Tires: Technology at WorkTread A thick layer of rubber ensures grip and durability when it makes contact with the ground.
Crown plies This double – or triple – reinforced belt offers both vertical flexibility and high lateral rigidity.
Sidewalls These cover and protect the textile casing that attaches the tire tread to the wheel rim.
Bead area for attachment to the rim Its internal bead wire clamps the tire firmly against the wheel rim.
Inner liner This makes the tire almost totally impermeable and maintains the correct inflation pressure.
