STEP1:Chooseagroovetopractice.(Irecommendusingthebookinorderfromstarttofinish-thematerialisdesignedtobemethodical.)

STEP2:Chooseacomfortabletempotopractice.Useametronomesettoquarternotes.Makenoteofthetempoforreferencelater.

STEP3:Playthegrooveuntilyoucanperformitcomfortablyforatleast10repetitionswithoutmakingamistake.

STEP4:Pickthenextgroovetopractice.Repeatstepsone,twoandthree.Continueinthismanneruntilyouhavemasteredallofthegroovesinthechapter.

STEP5:Revisityourbestperformedgroovesathighertempos.Revisitthegroovesyoustruggledwithatslowertemposuntilyoucansmoothlyincreasethetempo.

•WhenpracticingChapter7,playtheSnareDrumnotesasbothregularsnareandsidestick.

•Whenattemptingfasttempos,reduceyourstickheightandvolume.Drummingquietly,withashortrangeofmotion,ismoreefficient

andthereforeeasiertoplayfaster.

•Donotbediscouragedifyouareunabletoperformsomegroovesatfasttempos.Yourdrummingmaynotbedevelopedenoughtodo

so.Noproblem,that’swhatthisbookisfor!Continuepracticingthegroovesandincreaseyourtempoby2-4bpmforeachnewpass.
