Peter’s Denial

Why? He Had this image built upPeter walked on WaterHealed PeopleCast out DemonsProclaimed JesusAs the ChristLuke 22:31-38

Side note

Why was Peter at Jesus trial anyways? Jesus told Peter that he would deny him 3 times but Peter shows up at Caiaphas.

To prove Jesus wrong, to support Jesus, or Peter probably wasn’t sure himself

The Denial beyond Peter

John 18:15-18+25-27, Luke 22:54-62, Mark 14:66-72, Matthew 26:69-75 (all four books Jesus foretells Peter’s Denial)

What about the other 11? Matthew 26:35 Matthew 26:56, Mark 14:50-52

There was only one of the 12 at Jesus fatal

hour? John 19:25-27

Beyond the Denial

Not even one of the 12 buried Jesus-John 20: 38-42; Joseph of Arimethea and Nicodemus (John 3:1-21 Nicodemus 1st encounter)

They were hiding: defeated, afraid- for themselves, pity party, just wasted their lives with a man they spent years with. (John 20:19)

Everything Jesus stood for was a lie or a waste of time

John Chapter 21 Where it all began

Where it all began

HE NEVER GIVES UP ON YOU

John 21:19, after all Peter did, what his disciples did what is Jesus response to them, FOLLOW ME, Feed my Sheep, I have not given up on you, don’t give up on yourself.

Peter got it the second time, just read acts, read his letters for example Acts 4: 5-12

How DEEP is the LOVE of Jesus? What are we going to do about it
