Create Great Britain

This brief was to create a magazine that would identify the things that make Great Britain ‘great’. I chose to look at the revolution of the ‘House’ music scene that showed up in the UK in the late 80’s. The scene took the UK by storm, became uncontrolable due to the mass amount of people attending and carved a pathway for many different sub genres across UK British dance music.

Descent Mountain Biking Company

I created Descent for a corporate identity brief. The project contains a manual which shows the way Descent’s identity is placed. I wanted the brand to emulate that of current ones which have that high octane feel and especially link to downhill mountain biking. I wanted to make the company a brand which caters to education and training trail centres, merchandise from bikes to clothing and event sponsorship.

Sheffield’s Got it Made

This project was to represent Sheffield during Sheffield design week. I came up with an idea that played on the fact that Sheffield has it made in so many ways from the urban living, easy rural escapes, Sport / University facilities and creativity. I created a flag with my own custom typeface that could capture certain elements that make Sheffield what it is, with a range of promotional material alongside.

Room

The brief was to brand a contemporary furniture company for launch in Sheffield in June 2017. What I wanted to do was to avoid the various furniture brands you see who are about flamboyance and elegance and over hype their worth. I wanted to create a company which is about the items and the taste of any person wanting to buy into the products and brand values. It’s not about wealth but a focus on ‘FURNITURE for THEN, NOW and TOMORROW’. The brochure has been designed in a concertina format around the size of a business card. (shown below)

Personal Website

I wanted my website to have a minimal feel to it and open with a focus on typography. The home page opens with some interactive type to describe what I do, plus certain images taken from past projects. I decided to use a Wordpress theme which contained features to enable me to experiment with interactive / animated typography. My website has a black background to enable the portfolio titles to have a more colourful element, focusing on the palettes used across each project.

Box of Chocolate Memories

‘Box of Chocolate Memories’ came from an advertising brief set by ‘The Grown Up Chocolate Company’ for YCN. I wanted to give the company a way for customers to interact with creating a personalised set of chocolate bars on their e – commerce site. I made a way for customers to add a range of design elements, including a way to set photos in a polaroid style template.

Architectonics

This brief was set by ‘Field’, a design agency based in Sheffield. The idea was to create a sense of space through graphic design. The show was for Architecture and Interior design graduates, so my idea was ‘Architectonics’ which means the science behind Architecture. A logo, show wayfinding and a website template were the main requirements of the brief.
