Graphic Design 1Assignment - Tea Packaging

Design Manifesto

Symbolism: The use of intricate and delicate floral shapes links the name ‘Delicatea’ to the overall aesthetics of the packaging. the shadows behind these shapes add a gradient and some variety to the design of the packaging.

Tone: I want this product to evoke a calm and serene feeling when viewing the packaging and be provoked to pick up and view the product from all angles. After the design has been viewed, I want the customer to be moved to buy it and appreciate the product.

Style: With the use of intricate floral designs my tea packaging represents a traditional and subtle style. The use of subtle shadows behind the floral shapes is not too overpowering yet is apparent and helps give it texture.

Typography: By modifying a script type and drawing in detailed accents, the typography of the logo links the name and the style of my tea brand together. A simple sans serif typeface was used for the nutrition information and provides the vital information without overshadowing the overall aesthetic of the package.

Relationship: The logo, floral figures, shadows and style of the packaging all relate to the branding being delicate and detailed with a subtle and eye catching style.

Colour: The lavender flavour if dark and light purple like the flower. The blue orchid flavour is dark and light blue like the fower. And the rose flavour is dark and light red like the flower.

Materials: I used a cardboard cube because it is the ideal shape for the tea bags and is a shape that is easily transported in large quantities and easily stackable on super market shelves.
