GO AND TELL!Grace Lutheran Church

Wednesday, December 16, 2015

WELCOMEWelcome in Jesus’ name. We thank God for your presence among us and pray God’s blessing be upon your hearing of His Word.

We know in this day and age you have many choices to choose from when it comes to Worship, Fellowship, and Bible study. We also know that people do not join churches like they join civil organizations, but rather, through Baptism in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit people are brought into the Kingdom of God and are declared His children to live and serve under Him.

Here at Grace Lutheran Church we seek to honor Jesus Christ through Worship, Fellowship, Prayer, and Bible Study which enriches, engages, and provides many opportunities for service of love within and without our community.

We believe in the power of prayer and welcome your prayer requests on behalf of yourself or someone you know. Just fill out the Prayer Card located in the pew in front of you and place it in the offering plate. We will add your prayer request to our daily prayers. If you are looking for a church home, we would invite you to prayerfully consider Grace Lutheran. We welcome you to come and join us Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:00 a.m. as we learn more about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

GOSPELLUKE 7:18-28

P The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke, the seven chapter.C Glory to You, O Lord

GOSPEL

John’s disciples told him about all these things. Calling two of them, he sent them to the Lord to ask, “Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?” When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the

GOSPEL

Baptist sent us to you to ask, ‘Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?’” At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. So he

GOSPEL

replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached

GOSPEL

to the poor. Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me.” After John’s messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the desert to see? A reed swayed by the wind?

GOSPEL

If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces. But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a

GOSPEL

prophet. This is the one about whom it is written: “‘I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’ I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least

GOSPEL

in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”  P This is the Gospel of the Lord.C Praise to You, O Christ.

ON JORDAN’S BANK

On Jordan's bank the Baptist's cry Announces

that the Lord is nigh;Awake and hearken, for he brings Glad tidings of the

King of kings!

ON JORDAN’S BANK

Then cleansed be ev'ry life from sin; Make straight the

way for God within,And let us all our heats

prepare For Christ to come and enter there.

ON JORDAN’S BANK

We hail Thee as our Savior, Lord, Our refuge and our great

reward;Without Thy grace we waste away Like flow'rs that wither

and decay.

ON JORDAN’S BANK

Lay on the sick Thy healing hand And make the fallen

strong to stand;Show us the glory of Thy face

Till beauty springs in ev'ry place.

ON JORDAN’S BANK

All praise, eternal Son, to Thee Whose advent sets Thy people

free,Whom with the Father we

adore And Holy Spirit evermore.”
