GOD LOVES
A CHEERFUL GIVER
From Father Phil
My Dear Parishioners, I know that our celebration of our patron, St. Theresa of Lisieux, was an experience of joyful faith. What better way of witnessing to our love of God and others than in joy. I want to thank Joseph Blanco, who helped arrange the food, fellowship, and fun that fol-lowed the mass at 10:00 a.m. The presence of so many of our teens is a witness that our young people do want to be part of the church. Their help was also appreciated along with so many oth-ers. The music under the direction of Mr. Stephen Schad, with our choir and visiting trumpeter, energized our praise. Other mem-bers of our staff were present along with our parish manager, En-rique Benitez. To all our staff, thank you. It’s important that the parish staff be present for the smooth run-ning of Feast Day and all we do. Still, our parish does not consist of just our staff: we all are the Body of Christ in this part of the Vineyard. As we continue to celebrate Mass, baptize, witness mar-riages, visit the sick, and bury the dead, I hope that our faith and Christian witness will grow, as our sacramental ministries inspire our public witness. May we work with other churches to increase the unity for which Jesus prayed, and with other groups within our city that challenge violence, discrimination, and abuse. Please discern how you might be able to use your gifts for the good of the work of the church. Pray with me that the love we hold within will overflow more and more from our hearts, the hearts of our church and families bursting open and pouring out beyond. Let us go forth and love the hidden, neglected, and forgotten. With every good wish, Fr. Phil Pastor

CELEBRATION OF MATRIMONY SEPTEMBER
A Notice of Retirement to Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers:
It has been a pleasure to have been Eucharistic Min-isters and Lectors here at Saint Theresa Church. The desire to serve still exists, however, our eyes, feet
and energy do not allow. It is a joy to attend Mass and assist in celebrating our love of Faith & Liturgy each Sunday with you. Know that you are acting as the early Apostles in
answering Christ’s call to serve. Even with our “canes” and “slower walking” we both admire your
generous time given and envy your health. Blessing to you.
