Calling all volunteers! Our annual book fair is in the planning stage and we need YOUR help to

make it a success. This year our book fair will run from Monday, November 9th

through Friday,

NEW LUNCH PROGRAM: Beginning Monday, November 2nd

our new lunch program will begin.

Erin Carmody from Carmody Concessions will be our new vendor. The lunch menu for November

will be on-line by Wednesday, October 28th

. The cost will be $3.50 per lunch. The blue circle next to

the lunch choice indicates 1 additional side item which is included in the lunch. Orders for the week

of November 2nd

need to be in by Friday, Oct. 30th

. The lunch portal will be open weekly for your

convenience. Thank you for your patience during this past month.

Paul & Eddy’s will still serve the pizza on Friday. The pizza choice for November 6th

will be cheese

or pepperoni.

TRUNK OR TREAT SUCCESS!!!!

We certainly had the happiest parking lot in Hamden on Friday night! With record-breaking attendance of over 300 guests and 40 cars, the 6th Annual Trunk or Treat created great family fun and memories. Thank you to everyone who supported this event by donating treats, parking cars, coordinating volunteers, and cleaning the lot. Special Thanks to our families who provided the Trunks! Same time, next year?

Having the Love You Want

On Saturday, November 14, from 9:00am - 3:00pm at the Caritas Christi Center, Chris & Don Paglia,

former co-directors of the Hartford Archdiocesan Family Life Office, will lead a retreat day for

married couples.

Marriage is a spiritual pathway in which God calls us to grow in a strong and vibrant relationship. We

will explore what couples really want for their marriage as well as the obstacles, and couples will

design a future plan that facilitates a thriving, intimate, and sacred marital relationship. This special

one-day retreat will be a learning experience that includes prayerful reflection, couple time, a

supportive community. . .and some fun! The donation is $40/couple and includes lunch. Please call

Film Study: The Way

On Wednesday, November 18 from 6:30 – 9:00 pm at the Caritas Christi Center, Jim Pepitone will

screen and lead a discussion of the movie The Way. In this film, Tom (Martin Sheen), an American

doctor goes to France to retrieve the body of his son who was killed in a storm while walking the

Camino de Santiago, also known as The Way of St. James. Tom decides to honor the memory of his

deceased son by finishing the journey. Having only one objective, he did not expect to be profoundly

changed by meeting and bonding with other pilgrims, who like his son, were searching for meaning

in their lives. The donation for this program is $8 (snack included). To register please call 203-281-

Holly Berry Festival

The annual Holly Berry Festival, a juried arts & crafts fair benefitting the Retirement Fund for the

Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, will take place Fri. November 20 (3-8 pm) & Sat. November

21 (10 am – 3 pm) at Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden. There is a Pasta Dinner on Friday from 5 –

7 pm ($10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under). There are still spots left for crafters. If you
