Troubleshooting is both an art and a science. An instinct and
a technique. In RH142 Linux Troubleshooting Techniques and
Tools, you will learn techniques for troubleshooting a Linux
system and how to use the troubleshooting tools available on
Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
This course is a four-day, heavily lab-oriented class designed
to help you learn or improve troubleshooting skills. Youll gain
troubleshooting experience by debugging live systems. These
labs offer a range of problems from RHCT level and up to allow
you to extend your knowledge and techniques.

Linux system administrators who understand how to install
and configure a Red Hat Enterprise Linux system and who wish

1. BOOKINGPlaces on Scheduled Training courses and onsite events may bereserved by completing an online Registration Form found onwww.europe.redhat.com/training and submitting it to Red Hat UKGlobal Learning Services via email. Once course places or onsiteevents are reserved, the places and event dates will be kept openfor 5 working days, pending receipt of written confirmation viaa booking form and receipt of Purchase Order, cheque or creditcard details.
Should this confirmation and payment detail not be receivedwithin 5 working days, Red Hat reserves the right to offer thatplace or event dates to another delegate without further notice.
2. PAYMENT AND PRICING:Payment of the course fee, together with the VAT, should be
received by Red Hat 5 working days before the commencementof the course or within 30 days of the invoice date, which ever isthe earliest.
Non-receipt of payment will result in non-admittance to thetraining course.
If the course place is booked less than 5 working days before thecourse commences, the course fee must be paid at the time ofbooking , by cheque, credit card or by Bank Transfer.
3. TRAINING UNITS (TUS)3.1 Red Hat provides training to Customers under this Agreementon a per unit basis. These units are referred to as Training Units(TUs). TUs can be purchased individually or in conjunction withother Red Hat products and services. Once purchased TUs arenon-refundable and may not be redeemed for cash or credit. TUshave no cash value. TUs can only be redeemed for training seatsin public, open-enrollment Red Hat training classes sponsoredby Red Hat at a Red Hat training facility. Red Hat has the solediscretion where and when the TUs can be redeemed.
3.2 Customer may enroll in training courses by redeeming theappropriate number of TUs.
3.3 Customer must reserve seats in training classes bycontacting Red Hat Enrollment Central (via email,redhat.europe.com web form, or phone). Customer shouldmention that they are redeeming TUs, and provide date ofpurchase and order number on Red Hat invoice.
3.4 TUs can only be redeemed for training seats in public,open-enrollment Red Hat training classes and not for any otherRed Hat training product or service.
3.5 TUs must be redeemed within one year from the EffectiveDate. Customer is solely responsible for redeeming TUs priorto expiration from the Effective Date.
3.6 TUs cannot be pro-rated or combined with any otherdiscount, special offer, or coupon.
3.7 Customer is responsible for assessing the participantssuitability for Red Hat training and enrolling into the appropriatecourse.
3.8 Customers designated participant will be required to enterinto applicable training agreements.
3.9 Training Units may only be used in the country in which theywere purchased.
3.10 Training Units are valid and may be redeemed for 12 monthsfrom the day of purchase.
4. CANCELLATIONRefunds for cancellations will be given if notice in writing isreceived by Red Hat more than 10 working days before thecourse commencement date, otherwise Red Hat will be entitledto a cancellation fee equivalent to the course fee or a minimumof 25GBP/38EUR administration fee.
Prices are as quoted by Red Hat at the time of booking. Red Hatreserves the right to alter course prices without notice.
5. Transfers and Substitutions:Transfers may be made , either to the same course at a laterdate or to another course of equal standard or value , if noticein writing is received by Red Hat more than 10 working daysbefore the course commencement date, otherwise Red Hat willbe entitled to a cancellation fee equivalent to the course fee.The substituted course must be running within 3 months of the
original course. An administration fee of GBP 25 will be chargedfor each transfer.
Substitutions can be made at no charge provided the substitutemeets all prerequisites and Red Hat is informed in writing priorto course commencement. If any paperwork has been sent outto the client, it is the responsibility of the client to ensure thatthe new delegate receives the required information.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that thesubstitute delegate meets the stated course prerequisites.
Failure to attend without notice will be treated as a cancellationand the full course fee will be due to Red Hat.
6. RESCHEDULING BY RED HAT:In the event that it is necessary for Red Hat to reschedule acourse upon which a booking has been made, Red Hats liabilitywill be limited to a refund of the fees paid if the rescheduleddates are not convenient to the customer. Red Hat reserves theright to change the course location. Red Hat will inform thecustomer of any changes not less than 5 working days prior tothe start of the course. If notice cannot be given , for example inthe case of indisposition of the instructor or other circumstancesoutside Red Hats control, Red Hat will aim to resolve such asituation within reasonable time but will not be liable for anyfailure to do so. Red Hats liability will be restricted to a refund
of any course fees paid.7. PARTICIPANT DISMISSAL BY RED HATRed Hat reserves the right to remove unruly course participantswho disturb the class to the detriment of other participantslearning.
8. PREREQUISITES:It is the clients responsibility, having referred to relevant RedHat course information, to ensure the course is suitable for thestudents requirements and that the student meets any statedprerequisites.
