    Well. Mary

    We received yours Yesterday & were of course very glad to get it & to hear that

    you were well, & improving. Betsey was Mighty Glad to get it There was the usual amount of

    turning up of tea-cups to endeavour to discover a letter from Mary.

    Betsey says I must be sure to inform you that she was better. all the rest are so as to be

    stirring .thank you. I dont feel very well but I am in hopes to after dinner

    The Waits are going to have a supper at our house tomorrow eve on Mr [Faed?]'s invitation. Our

    folks are making preperationg & We expect to have a great time. I am going to engage 2 Fiddlers

    this afternoon & we will make the old house shake. The Methodists & Presbyterians are on a

    [strife?] they folks have protracted meetings every night I expect they have got Lizzie Robinson

    but I wish she had waited till after the party... Old Mr Hawkin is dead also Seth Ames who died

    very suddenly of Brain Fever, Its rather pleasant to day but cold I wish you was here to morrow

    night to see the W.C.sperform I want you to write & tell us Just what kind of a place itis out

    there & all about it. it is Just half after 11. how I do wish they would hurry up the dinner, I dont

    know what to write to you besides I am in a dl of a hurry

    We received a letter from Mrs Wyckhoff a short time after you left. I guess they will

    make us a visit this summer. I havent answered theirs yet but are going to in a few days. Miss

    Davis is up to Parsons from the Fort. I presume she will be at the Supper. Give our love to any

    body we know or dont know write soon. Be thankful for small favours
