Girls Know How to Party Shreya Neogi and Kishika Arora bring us the inside story of the night that was!
Volume 1, Issue 2 MMXVII/December
The day finally arrived and
the girls were all ready to be
taken away in their beautiful
carriages led by.. Horse-
women and mares
(figuratively speaking). It
was the night where none of
us had to see the men and
we could be ourselves and
dance till our feet ached.
The much awaited party was
finally going to begin and if
we go behind the scenes, the
preparation started the night
before with everyone getting
their facials and mud packs
to clear their faces. From
castor oil to nariyal tel,
green tea to hot water, we
were all ready for the last
extravagant party which was
in our honour. The juniors
did a brilliant job and im-
pressed us with beautiful
handmade invitations in the
shape of butterflies. The
theme being under the light
of a thousand stars intrigued
us even more. Speculating
was one thing and actually
coming downstairs was an-
other.
The show began and we
walked in through the gate of
the girls hostel into the para-
dise which was made for us.
Cameras flashing and cheer-
ing put the brightest smiles
on our faces as we walked on
the red carpet towards the
stage.
The show was packed with
dances, songs and speeches
but what caught our attention
the most was the K-Pop dance
which got us on our feet and
made us dance along with the
performers. We saw a rather shy
Amy enact Gabbars capturer
(though she hid her face
*laughs*).
The performances came to an
end and it was time for the fash-
ion show. We were asked to
walk to the stage where we
were asked a question each by
either Dr. Nag, Mrs. Devgan or
Mrs. Sharif Khan. Three girls
were shortlisted for the final
round. They were Lipi Koyu,
Emtili Aier and Shreya Neogi.
They were asked a question
each and everyone was eager to
know the winner of Ms Se-
Quin
The winner emerged and it was
Emtili Aier. The crowd cheered
and clapped as the three final-
ists walked the ramp.
What followed was much need-
ed, the dinner! The girls ate to
their hearts content. We would
like to take this opportunity to
thank the catering team for add-
ing sugar, spice and everything
nice to our evening.
The evening ended with the
much awaited DJ night. This
was when the ladies kicked
their heels off and changed into
their pajamas and danced like
nobody was watching. (no one
was #GIRLSHOUSE)
He who has not
Christmas in his
heart will never find
it under a tree.

Santa Wishes 6
Kimmy is a great man with a bad haircut.
Kimmy runs a country which he inherited
from his father who inherited it from his
father before him.
As a kid, Kimmy loved to play with rockets.
30 years later, his obsession increased ten-
fold and now his tests make the world inse-
cure.
Kimmy hates-LOATHES-the American way
of life and is usually found in confrontation
(via Twitter) with his blonde, bigmouthed
counterpart.
Kimmy lives an extravagant life, funded
with money channeled from taxes and from
UN as sanctions to feed his people who are
starving to death.
Kimmy is a bad dictator. Be like Kimmy.
Im pretty sure (no, but I am hoping) that
even the most Dwells-Under-The-Rock guy
would have figured out by now who is being
referred to in this (hypothetical) scenario. If
not, well ummupar wala aap ka bhala
kare.
Honestly, given what this guy is up to or up
against, makes world leaders run into a cold
sweat. His continual nuclear escapades over
the South China Sea gives people the jitters
and the media a field day.
Boasts of the Supreme Leader arent un-
heard of either. Over every military advanc-
es made, whether it was the development of
the Hydrogen Bomb or the ICBM launches,
(thats the Inter Continental Ballistic Missile
for you, Mensa Retards) provocations to Un-
cle Sam keep pushing on. And even though
America being bound by the No First Strike
Policy of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, the
scourge of a nuclear war seems to be hovering
over the world. And for what? Insecurities of
a dictator? Nope. An obtuse President? Not
that one either.
It all boils down to the conflicting egos of two
world leaders who for some reason, are still
carrying on with their unrelenting show of
machismo.
Could you believe it?! These are people who
can reduce no, eliminate poverty, starva-
tion; supply limitless medicines to economi-
cally backward nations; fund a private think-
tank and who knows, maybe even cure can-
cer! While one conducts missile test over for-
eign airspace, the other refuses to back out
from The Middle East for some reasons.
(Hmmprobably the desert sands and its dirt
cheap oil)
But who cares? Not me. Well, not until theres
a supply of carbonated drinks and Netflix. Or
until one gets incinerated in the nuclear tide.
Humph.
Penny for your thoughts?
Over the 1.6 decades of my existence, my
workings have been scarred by those of oth-
ers. Amazingly enough those individuals;
whether it be a Trump, a Mugabe, a Gaddafi
or even a Modi have set a peculiar trend to
do something, errr out of the box. It
might be (hypothetically, of course) grab-
bing things that arent meant to be grabbed,
an oppressing rule of over 3 decades, insecu-
rities as a Jihadist or even displacing an en-
tire country over a few bits of paper.
Superpower by 2020 he said
Anyhow, this bit of paper isnt dedicated to
the grabbers, senile control freaks, cuckoo
dictators or chaiwalas
But it is dedicated to one eccentric genius in
the league of these individuals (perhaps
higher too!) But unlike them, hes known to
be violent (brutally violent) and the author of
this article, unfortunately ME, can be traf-
ficked, tortured, have his nails pulled out or
worse, be given a citizenship to a country
which gives citizens insignificant legal
rights, is known for the worst humanitarian
aid to its people, and may pass off as a mod-
ern day Sparta (except this time, there are
submarines and nukes instead of swords and
guys in capes).
So nuhuh, I wont point any names or name
any fingers for that matter (hehe) but for the
benefit of doubt, lets call this guy Kimmy.
On 7th December, 27 students went to
DPSG International for the DPSG Soci-
ety athletics meet. Our students partici-
pated with great enthusiasm and brought
a bag full of medals (25 gold medals, 11
silver medals and 5 bronze medals).
Sumaer Raj Singh was awarded with
gold medals in all the events in which
he participated.
The dance competition took place on the
9th of December and it had two sub-
categories; Classical Dance Competition
and Magical Moves Competition.
DPSG Vasundhara was announced the
winner of the Indian Classical Dance
Competition and DPSG International
won the Magical Moves Competition.

Karate results
The Inter House Karate
had two categories: Ka-
ta (individual and team)
and Kumite
(individual). The overall
results are as follows:
Agni (20 points)
Jal (15 points)
Akash (10 points)
Prithvi (05 points)
Congratulations Gursid-
ak Singh (1st in Kumi-
te), Vansh Singhal (1st
in Kata) and Vansh
Singhal, Aryan Prakash
and Harsh Agrawal (1st
in Team Kata).
On 15th December, 16 SeQuins departed at 11:30 am for the Indian
Conservation Agriculture Research (ICAR). The museum curator in-
formed the students of how the conservation of soil and water takes
place, different types of cropping, the changes in farming techniques
and some graphs of soil. The students were told about ICAR, how it
works and its members help farmers by educating and teaching them
the methods to conserve water for future use. They also try new meth-
ods for better crop production like intermixing crops. After gaining
some knowledge, the students headed for the Soil Water Conservation
Research and Training Institute (SWCRI). There they saw the devices
which are used to measure humidity, temperature, sunshine, soil tem-
perature, rainfall, etc. The students got to know about different crops,
cropping patterns, types of farming and how the farmers are trained.
The institute has a pond full of different species of fish. We thank our
teachers, Ms. Kalpana Sharma and Mr. Soham Roy who made this trip
possible.

Term Gone By
was a great evening again fun, food,
dance and a basket full of memories.
Another event of the busy November was
the InterHouse Basketball Tournament.
The three days witnessed triumphs, disap-
pointment and the crowd cheering and
screaming their lungs out.
The Jalites and Prithvities had a lot of fun
at their House Parties too and every time
another house had their party, the thought
of some of us having fun turned us into
green eyed monsters. When wed hear the
music during dinner, the conversation
quickly turned into plotting and planning
sessions to sneak in somehow.
After an exhausting month full of events,
it was still not time for a break. The event
of mass participation, the cross-country
had come. Everyone got out of their cozy
beds grudgingly and begged for (just) one
more minute to sleep. (That was absolute-
ly in vain). Packed up in layers of cloth-
ing, we reached the venue. On one side,
people were seen stretching and warming
up and on the other, people formed their
walking squads. Everyone cheered others
even if they themselves couldnt find in-
spiration to run the shortest possible dis-
tance. I remember wondering (while run-
ning) sab kahan gayab ho gaye?
No wonder SeQuins looked forward to more
early morning runs. 72 students went for the
DPSGI meet and won laurels for the school.
The Tennis and Equestrian team also won
many prizes in various Inter-School events.
10th and 12th graders were seen with their
heads buried in books for the preboards. Staff
v/s students basketball match was held and
the teachers emerged as winners (yet again!)
New faces were seen in this lush green cam-
pus of 52 acres .
The new editorial board was appointed and
the new board members felt a sudden sense of
responsibility to take the school magazine to
the next level.
The year passed all too soon and I never real-
ized how time flew by. It was a year of bitter
sweet moments and all I would like to say is,
carpe diem! Live in the moment and make it
beautiful so that it is worth remembering be-
cause tomorrow is never promised. Find joy
in the ordinary. Forget what has gone, appre-
ciate what still remains and look forward to
what is coming next.
Ill leave you with one of my favorite quotes
from Finding Nemo, When life gets you
down, do you know what youve gotta do?
Just keep swimming...

(Editor In-Chief)
The new term began as we returned to the
school after the romp festive celebrations. It was
a much welcomed break after the tiring athletic
meet and Founders Day celebrations which
were pulled off brilliantly and proved to be
quite a show. (After all, I cancelled my plans of
going to the USA for this big day!) #truestory
November was the achievers month. SeQuins
showcased their talents and skills in various
Inter-School events in various fields like arts
and sports and made the school proud.
The House Party season was upon us. The Ag-
nians were found working tirelessly day and
night. Not to forget Mr. Sharad Aggarwal who
himself prepared the invitation cards for the
outgoing batch of twelfth-ees.
Soon enough, tip- toeing into our lives came
CAP Test III and the books were dusted and
opened after quite a while. The days passed with
cups of coffee, alarm clocks and the very trusted
and effective last moment preparations which
always are the results of divine inspiration. No
compromises for those whose throats dont dry
up in the name of the Review meet.
Equally unforgettable was the Childrens Day
which began with a really exciting cricket match
with a lot of uchaal in the pitch. The evening
show put up by the teachers was wonderful and
we all had a blast dancing to the beats of The
Bhairavas around the bonfire.
It was time for the Akash House Party which
