INTHODUCTION
The property, discussed herein, consists of 10
unpatented and unsurveyed mining claims located in Macbeth
and Clement Townships in the Sudbury and Timiskaming Mining
Divisions, Province of Ontario*
The claims were staked in 1957 and in the summer
of 1959 a geological mapping program, some diamond dril
ling and some trenching was completed.
This report is based on Information obtained
front sources as set forth under "References" in this report,
PROPERTY
The property consists of 10 unsurveyed mining
claims numbered as follows:
8-103007 - S-103008
T-43908 - T-43915
This comprises 400 acres more or less of land
and land under water.
LOCATION AND ACCESS
The claims are located in Macbeth and Clement
Townships about 25 miles north of the hamlet of River Val
ley, Ontario.
A good all weather road passes through the claims
along the west side of Manitou Lake. This road connects
'^fv^'^fff^P^ll'V^'
with Highway 64 about 37 miles southwest of the property
and near the town of Field, Ontario.i
TIMBER
Most of the timber on the property consists of
second growth poplar and birch with some alders in the low
lying ground. There are, however, a few pine trees on the
property which rise well above the growing level of the
second growth timber.
TOPOGRAPHY
The most prominent topographic features on the
property are a group of high hills along the west side of
Manitou Lake. Elevation differences are of the order of
250-300 feet.
GENERAL GEOLOGY
All of the consolidated rocks on the property
are of Precambrian Age* These are covered to a large ex
tent by peat, gravel, boulders, sand, and clay of Recent
and Pleistocene age.
The predominant rook types are believed to be
of Timiskaming Age and consists principally of quartzite,
arkose, and greywacke. The rocks of Timiskaming Age are
tightly folded with iron formation and greenstones of Kee
watin Age. The sediments dip almost vertically confirming
a very close folding of the formations.

; ; The rooks of Timiskaming and Keewatin* Age are1 .. j .- . - ' . ' " , , , :' intruded hy red and grey feldspar porphyries of Algoman - ' , ' ' "' age and diabase of Keweenawan age*
The rooks of Algoman age occur as small stocks and dikes. The Keweenawan diabase occurs as a flat lying
sill and ontorops near the northern boundary of the pro-
perty. These formations are intrusire into the older Timis- k ami n g and Keewatin rooks on the property*
Table of Formations
QUATERNARY
Reoent: Peat and stream sands.
Pleistocene: Gravel, boulders, and olay.
Great unconformity
PRECAMBRIAN
Keweenawan: Diabase.
Algoman: Red and grey feldspar. Porphyries.
Intrusive Contact
Timiskaming: Quartzite, arkose, greywacke.
Keewatin: Greenstone and iron formation.
ECONOMIC GEOLOGY
There are bands of almost pure magnetite in the
iron formation. The iron is interbanded with bands of si
liceous and calcareous sediments* While a oover of over
burden conceals much of the property it is believed that
the magnetite occurs as lense-like pods which vary in width
^f'v^v.;: -K'. . ,.,, ; ,, , . . ; ; - .; ,- . ...-, - from a few inches up to several feet; There may be several' S - V ':' '''-' ^ ' - ' ' ' ' ' '. ' -' ' '
lenses of magnetite arranged en echelon throughout the iron-' \
formation." f,;.- '
North of the iron formation and parallel to it
there is a sulphide occurrence or occurrences which strike
northwesterly as does the iron formation and dip vertically.
The prinoipal sulphides are pyrite and pyrrhotite with some
chalcopyrite.
