Gender awareness in water and waste in Central Asia
• 1. Along with the existing problems of gender equality in the water sector of Central Asia, expressed by limitations of women in decision-making, access to resources, there is a tendency for the situation to improve, in particular thanks to the joint projects aimed at raising awareness of gender issues in water resources management at macro and micro levels.
• 2. Central Asian countries have a gender perspective in the management of land and water resources, while those of Kyrgyzstan Republic are higher than those of other Central Asian countries, and Turkmenistan - lower.
• 3. Water experts are relatively competent in gender-sensitive aspects of water management. Representatives of water management organizations believe that information on this issue is not sufficiently represented.
