Education- He painted at The City College of New York and

did photography at Columbia University

• As a photographer, all Winogrand did was walk around New York with his 35mm camera and take pictures of the people

• He started out as a painter, but then later decided to switch over to photography

• His work started out as commercial work, such as magazines, bill boards, advertisements etc.
