The Joan Wells Nursing Excellence Award serves as tangible recognition of the countless vital contributions nurses make in support of furthering the mission of St. Claire Regional Medical Center in the areas of patient care, teaching, research and public service. The awards/recognition include monetary amounts: for the winners $1,000 and each area nominee receives $250. In addition, the nominees (along with one invited guest) are given the opportunity to attend the annual Kentucky Nursing Excellence Recognition Banquet held in Louisville, KY. Selection for the award is based on the following criteria:
• Theindividualdemonstratesexcellenceinclinicalnursing practice.
• Evidenceofspecialqualitiesofcaringandcompassion.
• Commitmenttoteachingandeducationofnursingstudents and health care professionals.
• Demonstratedevidenceofcommitmenttolifelonglearning and professional development.

Fun with Food at St. Claire Regional Outpatient Center
if you answered yes to any of the above, join the fun with food Group. The fun with food group meets weekly for one hour. each group will have four children with two pediatric occupational therapists leading the group. The group uses a social, non-threatening approach to help children feel more comfortable with exploring new foods and their color, shape, texture, smell, taste and consistency.
To benefit from the group, children need to: •Bemedicallystable

•Havelimitedfoodsintheircurrentdiet
•Refusefoodsorstrugglewithnewtexturesortastes

Congratulations are in order for Sister Mary Judine. Sister recently traveled to Chicago to take her boards for chaplaincy. The certification program is designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance and designate professional chaplains who demonstrate the knowledge essential to the practice of chaplaincy care.
