Cyberbullying Unfortunately, some students have been par cipa ng in bullying others via technology. This cowardly act will be dealt with in a zero‐tolerance approach with students. If students are found to be involved in using school equipment or lesson‐ me to engage in cyberbullying, their Internet privileges at school will be revoked. I have met with staff and STUDEC representa ves on Tuesday to discuss strategies to combat this insidious behaviour. For students that are dealing with this issue, I provide the following ps:
School Planning
The final dra of the 2018‐2020 School Plan has been presented to the School Planning Commi ee, P&C,
AECG and Staff. I look forward to providing the completed plan published on our school website by the
conclusion of the 2017 school year. The uploading of this document will be the culmina on of many
par cipants over many sessions. The plan is a true reflec on of where the school is currently situated at
this point in me and where we are striving towards over the next three years. If you would like a copy of
the dra for final consulta on, please contact the school office to arrange a copy. Any feedback is
appreciated and is due by the 7th of December.

Typing Tournament Online Trial
Our school has subscribed to a 10 day trial of Typing Tournament Online. This website
enables both home and school users to access this highly effec ve typing tutor. Children
will learn to type more effec vely through regularly prac sing their skills. Typing
Tournament Online makes it easy for you to support and encourage your child at home in
logging on and using all 10 fingers on the correct keys, the more regularly this is done, the
faster your child’s typing skills will develop.
Students from 3/4 through to Year 10 have access to this free trial. They will receive a
personalised Home Use Guide with their online login details. This trial will end on
December 10th 2017. It would be greatly appreciated at the end of the trial if you could
provide some feedback to Mrs Davis regarding the trial, both posi ve and nega ve. Enjoy,
and happy typing!

2017 Library Stocktake
The 2017 library stocktake has commenced. This is done to ensure we retain as many of our books as
possible. Unfortunately, a great number of books are missing or have not been returned. We suspect
students are taking books home without following the correct borrowing procedures. The majority of
these books are Picture Books, Senior Fic on and also Junior Fic on books.
Parents/Caregivers
Anything you can do to help your kids find their books is appreciated. I am asking all families to take 10
minutes at home and look for any books with this barcode located on the cover. I realise that some mes
school library books can get mixed up with your child’s personal books at home.
There are also a number of students who have not returned books that are long overdue. Some are a
year or more. Invoices will be sent out to those families whose children have outstanding loans.

HATS! HATS! HATS! There seems to be a growing number of students that have lost their school hat.
With the warmer weather, it is essen al that ALL students wear their school hat on the open school
playground during Recess, Lunch, Sport and PE. Those students without school hats will have to spend
this me under cover i.e. in the COLA.
New hats can be purchased for $11 at the front office. Some parents have had their child’s name
embroidered on their hat. This can be done at Kasper’s Embroidery in Inverell, or with Desley at the
canteen.
If your child is without a hat please see to this as soon as possible.
PRIMARY SPORT – SWIMMING
Students in Years K‐6 will be swimming every Friday during sport, beginning Friday 10th
November
(Week 5). All students, except season cket holders, are to bring in $2.00 each week for
entry to the pool.
Students must bring their swimmers to school in a plas c or waterproof bag. ALL clothing
and towels must be labelled. With the warmer weather, it is important for all students to
bring their school hats to school because they will need to wear them when walking to
and from the pool.
If your child is not going to swim on the day, they must have a note to excuse them from
par cipa ng. A permission note is also required for students in Years 3‐6 who wish to stay
at the pool a er sport.
