INSPIRATION FOR DESIGNFrom one generation to the next - Franke Celebrates100+ Years with the Centennial Sink
When you think about a ‘Traditional’ Kitchenyou are envisioning what still remains themost popular design in the US today. Each detail is a tribute to traditionsand treasures passed down fromone generation to the next. Thiskitchen displays a sense of historyand exudes luxurious elegance;which can only be mastered withexperience and attention to detail.
Traditional kitchens remain desirable because they are stately, comfortable, familiar and work for every demographic. The Centennialsink brings graceful shapes and fixtures with a curvaceous contour; atraditional design that is functional and creates an inviting atmosphere.
The Franke Centennial sink is all of this and more...Just as traditionaldesign is defined: the edges are soft, smooth and blend into the whole.Elegant side curves taper in allowing the large part of the bowl to facethe user.
The Centennial is the very first Franke sink that was conceptuallydesigned from beginning to end in the United States, yet stillmanufactured in Aarburg, Switzerland. The purpose was to capture theessence of the US home owner. In celebrating 100+ years, it is onlyfitting that we commemorate the classic ‘D-bowl’, with a redefinitionof this traditionally styled bowl.
The updated version of this traditional sink brings classic lines andarchitecture coupled with the undeniable luxury, functionality andquality that people have come to expect from Franke.
The designers who created this sink searched for inspiration far andwide for items approrpriate for today’sluxury consumers. Theylooked for productsthat incorporate integrityand proportion ofhistoric designwith a wealth ofimagination.

TESTIMONIALSWHY FRANKE CENTENNIAL SINKS?
See what the professionals are saying . . .
For my apartment renovation, I chose Franke's CQX11019 sink. The 19" bowl fits perfectly in my compact Brooklyn kitchen and thestainless steel finish matches my appliances and the industrial feelof my loft apartment.
This sink is very versatile and is something I would also specify fora traditional home in the country. It could work in a small kitchenor as a second sink or bar sink in a larger home and I think itsunique shape would work very well in a counter that is angled at45 degrees from the rest of the kitchen. And with Franke, I canalways be confident that I'm giving my clients a high qualityproduct.

We chose the centennial sink for our display because of its uniqueshape. I personally like the front to back depth of 20 ½”. It’s one ofthe deepest, if not the deepest sinks on the market, which opensthe options of what the sink can be used for. We like how itcomplements our display as well. We only spec and sell high endproducts, which is why we only use Franke sinks for our kitchenprojects.

Traditional style and decor resonates with the U.S. market. It offersa sense of rich details, elegant lines and graceful curves that is nottypically found with contemporary styles. We saw an opportunityto design a sink that echoes the same elegance found on kitchencabinets, hardware, faucets, serving platters, etc. Taking the sink astep beyond functionality, the Centennial offers an aesthetic stylethat complements the carefully curated traditionally designedkitchen.

The bottom grid also provides elevation above the bottom of the sink.We understand that you are cookingwith costly and substantial cookware, often times equating to heavier weights. Franke grids are engineeredto withstand 40lbs of pressure at anypoint without moving or bending. Additionally they are specifically madeof heavy commercial grade gauge toaccommodate such needs.
While sink accessories are rarelytaken into account during a remodel-ing project, Franke’s iroko wood cutting boards have been referred toas “jewelry for the sink”, aside fromtheir fundamental purpose. The Centennial cutting boards offer a greatsymmetrical feature – using two cutting boards, you virtually create additional counterspace and those unwashed dishes disappear!
