Shrikanth works on finishing of most of the wooden products that you see here.Visually impaired by birth, Shri had to deal with a lot of mistreatment. His life changed when he signed up for a skill development training program. His most important learning during the course was that he could develop skills without the barrier of disability, earn and live with dignity.
The Kashmiri items come from the heavenly land of Kashmir. Especially designed and painted for you by artisans who areleprosy-cured and are orthopedicallychallenged. The program is an honest attempt to support efforts to revamp the dying craft of Kashmiri Paper Mache and achieve social & economic inclusion.

Block PrintingIntroduction of woodblock printing technique, a
skill most likely picked up from the Chinesetraders on the Silk Route, augmented the way of
textile in India to a point where its origins became synonymous with India.
Prints, inspired by nature and Mughalarchitecture were prepared as a relief pattern – the negative space chiseled away and the motif
shored up and made prominent. Use of plant-based natural dyes, such as indigo and
pigments from Indian mulberry and chay root was the norm, and remarkably enough, it still
continues to be so in some cottage printing units today.
