Trip-wireInezStorer:Paintings,AssemblageandMixedMediaCollageApril25,2019–June7,2019Artist’sReceptionSaturday,May11from4to7pm.Avenue12Galleryisproudtopresent:Trip-wireInezStorer:Paintings,AssemblageandMixedMediaCollage.TheartworkofInezStorerinvitestheviewerinthroughinventiveandcolorfulcombinationsofimagerywithlayersofrichlytexturedpaintandmixedmedia.Theunderlyingstoriesareinfusedwithpersonalexperiencesthatarestillrelevanttothetimesinwhichwelive.Theseallegoricalmessagesareatonceplayfulandprofound.InezStorerwasborninSantaMonica,CaliforniaandreceivedherM.A.fromSanFranciscoStateUniversity.Storer'sworkhasbeenexhibitedinsoloexhibitionsconsistentlyintheUnitedStatesatinstitutionsincludingtheRenoMuseumofArt,theSantheSanJoseMuseumofArt,theMontereyMuseumofArt,theFresnoArtMuseum,YerbaBuenaCenterfortheArts,theMissoulaMuseumofArt,Montana,TheNationalMuseumofJewishHistory,PhiladelphiaandTheContemporaryJewishMuseumofSanFrancisco.StorertaughtformanyyearsattheSanFranciscoArtInstitute,andbeforethatSonomaStateUniversity,SanFranciscoStateUniversity,andtheCollegeofMarin.Shehasreceivednumerousgrantsandawards,includingaPollock-KrasnerFoundationgrantin1999,andhasworkedtwiceasavisitingartistattheAmericanAcademyinRome(1997,1996).HerworkisincludedinthepermanentcollectionsofthedeYoungMuseum(SanFrancisco),theOaklandMuseumofCalifornia,theLannanMuseuminFortWorth,Texas,theSanJoseMuseumofArt,andthedeSaissetMuseumatSantaClaraUniversity.StorerlivesinInverness,CaliforniaandmaintainsastudioinPointReyes.
