Here i looked at the book ‘The Big Sleep’ as set by the penguin competition I decided to focus on the scene where Carmen is Drugged and photographed nude. above shows some sketches of ideas showing this. I de-

cided rather than taking it straight to the action scene to take the focus of the book cover to behind the scenes within the Dark room where the images would be developed.

This page in my sketchbook shows ideas relating to viewing food in a new way and the original name of ‘Tasty’ was size matters but then we thought it was a little too crude and too specific. this was a crucial part of our

thinking process and followed after masses of research. There were many ideas on how to represent odd food but it wasn’t until much later that we settled on a concept.

Here I was looking at relations between science and Topman and if there were any, how could I create/em-phasize the link strong enough to make a successful campaign about it. Here was early stages and I hadn’t yet

focused my idea and i was still looking at science in general as a whole.
