iam Mary Finn, and Clyde Whalen is my
closest friend. I regretfully have to tell
you that this is the last Clydesides. Clydehas been very ill, but with no pain, and is
in the Hospice Unit of the Brockton VeteransHospital. The colon cancer he had sevenyears ago has spread to his liver and lungs. I
thought, as a tribute to Clyde, that I would put together
some of his one-liners and a
few humorous items from hisprevious work:

Well, thats it for Clydesides, I hope you
enjoyed it. I know many used to tell me that
it was the rst thing they read in The FenwayNews every month. He cant really deal with
visitors, but if you would like to send him anote or a card, use this address: Clyde c/o
Mary Finn, 108 Kilmarnock Street, # 102,
Boston, MA 02215. I will be happy to deliverthem. Thank you from Clydehe enjoyed
every minute of it.
Clyde Pens A FarewellColumn With a Little Help From His Friend
Standing in front of Church Park lastmonth, actor Mark Wahlberg watched
technicians set up a scene for the lmTed, in which he stars and which
has several location shots in the
Fenway. Wahlbergs brother Donnyvisits the Fenway this month with the
reconstituted New Kids on the Block,
who join the Backstreet Boys in aconcert at Fenway Park on Saturday,
June 11. If your 20-years-ago self
could only imagine how close you arenow to both Wahlbergs!

Walking the Walk for the Senior Center
Inspired by a suggestion of Senior Aide Santosh Sharma, shown here in foreground, patrons of the Peterborough Senior Center organized a fund-raising walk on
Thursday, May 5. Supported by many Fenway businesses and serenaded en route by
groups of Berklee students, the trekkers began near The Baseball Tavern in the WestFens, one of its long-time supporters, and then walked around the neighborhood for
about 40 minutes. Following the Walk, they returned to the Center for refreshmentsgenerously donated by the managers of Tasty Burger and College Pizza.
