01DA house
The design of this house was rethought based on the lifestyle of the new Capitol Hill de-mography. The new house is representative for the current social paradigm shift where a family of same sex couple decides to move into a larger home to start their entrepreneurial adventure. As the designer for the project, I transformed a traditional single-family home in a live-work life-style environment. The design challenge was to mitigate the existing layout of the house with the requirements of an office space with the privacy of the residential area. While preserving privacy be-tween programs, I open the house into itself and to the beautiful views to Lake Washington.

The original design of the house was offered a unidirec-tional experience without connectivity between programs and divorced from the activities happening at the other floors. The new design offers a fluid floor plan and visual connection with the upper floor.

The bathing experience has been changed to fit a dy-namic modern couple. from the traditional bathtub bathing ritual to a 30sf walk-in shower experience. The flat walls have be-come part of the program of-fering display, storage and a backdrop for indirect lighting areas.
kITCHEn
The kitchen openness to the living room and to the second floor office space required a redefini-tion of what this area represents in the overall ex-perience of the house. In the new design, the kitchen area besides the cooking tasks, it also supports social activities in an environment that resembles more as an ex-tension of the living room area.
02EmPoWERHoUSE
Despite the general belief that a sustainable project is also expensive to build, my multi-disci-plinary studio team put together an affordable pas-sive house for low income people. In collaboration with Habitat for Humanity and DC local government we were able to design and build two houses that will be offered to low income families in Deanwood, Washington DC. The goal for this project was to create an en-ergy efficient design that meets financial and con-structability constrains of Habitat for Humanity.

This project covers 18-acre and it was de-signed to foster a pedestrian-oriented neighbor-hood. Situated on a hillside above the Historic Lyn-wood Center, it includes an Inn, retail spaces with housing above to complement the existing Tudor style building across the street. The residences are a mix of various housing types to address different demographic typology. The pedestrian connectivity between the residential community and commercial area is supported by an extensive network of trails and open spaces.

The interior space planing was programed to match the requirements of a couple with one or two children. It has an open plan kitchen and a large dining area to accommodate a family and guests. visconsi project has been a controversy on Bainbridge Island since day one, making the first page of the local newspaper for months. The core of the controversy lays in the discrepancy between the commercial zoning regulations and residents vision about islands residential character. my studio faced a design challenge that had to speak for both sides. our response was to de-sign a pedestrian friendly village-like commercial center. The scale of the new development, its footprint and the architectural character of the retail buildings create a social environment for the neigh-borhood wived into the existing green space.

Despite the general belief that a sustainable project is also expensive to build, my multi-disciplinary studio team put together an affordable passive house for low income people. In collaboration with Habitat for Hu-manity and DC local government we were able to de-sign and build two houses that will be offered to low in-come families in Deanwood, Washington DC.

The project proposes a sustainable and faster com-muting option (cuts the time in half) for professionals and a year-long attraction for the neighborhood. The urbanism, landscape and architecture fuse together in a structural mor-phology that celebrates each other. In todays society, connectivity and urgency are very valued. The neighborhood has been culturally revived though a new Lincoln Center but it is still far away from many new Yorks points of interest like financial District, nJ, brooklyn, beaches, Upstate new York, etc..

Riverside Park users are very diverse, from moms with babies to professionals turned amateur athletes. However, the park is a seasonal attraction. The fusion ferry Terminal would be all-day, year-round point of interest by offering entertainment spaces and sweep-ing views of the Hudson River and surroundings.

The design of the canopy serves structural and environmental requirements. from the structural perspective, the canopy pattern is ef-ficient and it can enclose a large area with minimum number of columns. The parametric design allowed multiple iterations of the canopy so that size of the apertures would control the quantity of light in relation with the program requirement.

Parsons The new School intends to open a new branch in Shanghai. The Chinese government is favorable to this proposal since it will grow local design talent. The Elevated School was designed to make an envi-ronmental statement and to create an educational tool for stu-dents and public. The school was specifically located over the freeway to minimize the footprint while getting a lot of public exposure.
Physical model
Pollution of the water is one of the main concern in Shanghai. The design of the new School project tries to minimize the impact at the ground level and further the pollution of the water.

This collusion increases rather than decreases crime and irresponsible social behavior. 86 greenwich St., new York is not just a parking ga-rage, it has potential to bring together people from battery Park City, financial District, Staten Island and tourists, in a cultural, artistic and business community. Studying neigh-borhoods that are most valued by new Yorkers, I implement-ed design strategies that have the potential to increase the desirability of tall buildings while maintaining their environ-mental advantages. The programmatic organization of the villageSky-scraper investigates how programs could be interlinked so that a tall building could nurture human interaction similar to the West village community.

The public and private programs are linked by a pedestrian path the street throughout the building to create a similar experience as the streets in the West village neighborhood.
The public library (mid levels of the build-ing) and the Performance Sky neighborhood are linked through a series of small size art galleries, boutiques, coffee shops and convenience stores. All the public programs share the floor plan with the two-story residential units.
