The need for reliability

InOctober2004,thecompanyopenedtwobranchesinKuwait,quicklyexpandingtosixofficesacrossthecountrywithinfouryears.FedExKinko’sisalwaysstrivingtointroducethebest,mostinnovativeprintsolutionstokeepitaheadofthecompetitionandofferitscustomersthewidestrangeofservices.Fromtheoutset,HPprinttechnologyhasplayedanimportantroleinensuringcustomersgetthebestqualityinthefastesttime.

A combination of the best technology

ElBayarinvitedHPintoadvisehimonwhichprintsolutionsmightfitthebill.HPrecommendedacombinationoftheHPDesignjetT7100Printer,HPDesignjetT2300eMFP,HPDesignjetZ6200PhotoPrinterandHPDesignjetZ3200PhotoPrinteraswellasanHPScitexLX800IndustrialPrinter.

TheHPPrintersarealsoplayingakeyroleinbringinginnewbusiness.OneparticularlyhighprofileprojectworthKWD1,150,000(US$4.1m)wouldneverhavebeenwonbyFedExKinko’swithoutthecapacityprovidedbytheHPScitexLX800IndustrialPrinter.

“AnewuniversitycalledSABAHAL-SALEMUniversityisbeingbuilthereinKuwaitanditwantedsignageprintedforadvertising,”saysElBayar.“Thatmightsoundstraightforwardexceptthisparticularsignageis8m(26ft)highandastaggering5kmlong(3.1Mi)!OnlytheLX800couldhandlethattypeofjob.ItcouldneverhavebeenachievedwithoutuspurchasingtheHPScitexLX800IndustrialPrinter.”Sincewinningthebusiness,withthehelpofHP,theLX800hasbeenprintingnon-stopforsixweeksanditwillbeanothersixweeksbeforeithasfinishedthejob.Duringthattime,itstopsonlytoreloadmediaandforminormaintenance.
