Now it’s the end ofSandilands’ marriage toJaber that’s hogging theheadlines.

‘‘I want her to be happyand she wants me to behappy and there’s no tell-ing what’s going to happenin the future,’’ Sandilandssaid. ‘‘By no means havewe slammed the door ineach other’s face. We justhad to put out a statementso that everyone wouldleave us alone.’’

X Factor, the brainchild ofIdol creator Simon Cowell,that prompted him to signwith Channel 7.

The X Factor aims to findtalent over the age of 16 infour categories: under-25male, under-25 female,over-25, and vocal groups.The judges are mentors tothe acts and cameras fol-low every move.

‘‘There was an option togo to both Seven and Nine(after being axed by Ten),but I wanted to go whereThe X Factor was going,’’Sandilands says.

‘‘When I found out it wasgoing to Seven, I signedhalf an hour later.’’
