INTRODUCTION TO THE FACULTY
The Faculty of Pharmacy was established in 1988 and offers four undergraduate programmes: Pharmacy, Human Nutrition and in Dietetics, Food Science and Technology, and Environmental Sciences; and Double degree in Pharmacy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics. In addition, its Faculty members take part in various multidisciplinary Master and PhD programmes from the fields of Quality of Life and Health, Food Science and Technology and Biomedicine (www.ehu.eus/es/web/estudiosdeposgrado-graduondokoikasketak).
INFRASTRUCTURE
LECTURE ROOMS • 22 classrooms with audiovisual equipment • 3 meeting rooms with audiovisual equipment (1 meeting room with a capacity for 135, equipped for videoconference) • 3 computer rooms for practicum

MULTILINGUALISMAll the courses taught in Spanish and offered in our 4 Bachelor s Degrees courses are available to visiting students. In addition, the Faculty offers various subjects taught in English; our English offer consistently increases every year. Nowadays 5 subjects are offered in English and another 9 as English Friendly Courses (EFC): subjects taught in Spanish with tutoring, teaching materials and examinations in English.
In addition to the courses in English available at our Faculty, international exchange visitors can apply to take one or more courses out of the extra 19 courses available in English at other faculties within the Campus of Araba/Álava.

The Vice-Rectorate for Coordination and International Relations offers language courses for visiting students, both in Spanish and Basque languages. These courses are free of charge for exchange students and, depending on your language level, you will be assigned to the group that suits you best: beginner, intermediate or advanced. In addition to courses offered every semester (60 hours), there is also an intensive Spanish course in summer before the academic year starts (45 hours).

BACHELOR´S DEGREE IN ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES
Field of Knowledge: Sciences
Our society is increasingly aware of the need to draft developmental schemes that protect natural environment and resources. We face a number of challenges, including sustainable development, water treatment and purifying processes, control and treatment of gas emissions, waste management, land planning, polluted soil control, air quality, renewable energy… Graduates in Environmental Sciences are capable of doing a rigorous and efficient approach of these changes.
The Bachelor s Degree in Environmental Sciences trains professionals who plan and develop strategies aiming to prevent and protect the environment in an integrative vision, including technical, scientific, economic, legal and social aspects, and which qualify to coordinate several specialists´ task at different areas to intervene in three levels: prevention, intervention and recovery.
Environmentalists also deal with environment-oriented communication and education, from the perspective of sustainability. The syllabus includes a large practical content: one fourth of the teaching is performed at laboratories and through field practice. The compulsory internships will round out the acquired theoretical training and will enable Students to approach professional practice.

BACHELOR´S DEGREE IN FOOD SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

The food-related transformations we have experienced in recent times compel food industry to recruit professionals who have a thorough knowledge of every stage of the food chain.
Our Bachelor s Degree in Food Science and Technology trains professionals to analyze raw materials, composition and technological and biotechnological processes, get involved in the design, manufacturing, transformation, packing, storage and distribution of food products. Agri-food analysis and quality assessment are both thoroughly examined throughout the degree, same as sanitary controls for human consumption.
Our Bachelor s Degree tackles the deterioration causes of edible products, their processing fundamentals and their enhancement possibilities, while adapting to new consumption habits and in compliance with regulations in force.
The compulsory internships in public institutions or private corporations related to the food industry will round out the acquired theoretical training and will enable Students to approach professional practice.
If you are interested in food-related aspects, particularly food processing and preservation, food quality and safety, your profile is suitable to follow our Bachelor s Degree in Food Science and Technology.
This Degree will train you to…Discover the fundamentals of raw materials, how processing affects food composition, packing and distribution of food products, manage quality systems guaranteeing the safety and quality of groceries and processes, advice food industry and consumers, and develop and assess new food regulations.

Medication currently cures a large number of diseases, improves people s life-quality and even life expectancy. Medicines are a fundamental element in our lives. They are also at the base of our Bachelor s Degree in Pharmacy. This Degree trains accomplished experts in drug products and their impact in human health, who will develop their career in the scope of medicines production, preservation and provision, as well as collaborate in analytical, pharmaceutical care and public health monitoring processes.
Our Bachelor s Degree in Pharmacy abilitates graduates for scientific research, the search for new compounds, for the design and manufacture of new drugs aiming to treat and erradicate the most significant diseases.
The syllabus includes a large practical content: one fourth of the teaching is performed at laboratories. The compulsory external internships take place in Pharmacy offices or hospital pharmacies and allow interns to know first-hand which professional careers can be developed upon graduation
If you are interested in general health-related matters, and more specifically in Pharmacy and the world of medicines; if you are particularly sensitive to the relevance of public health, your best option is our Bachelor s Degree in Pharmacy.
This Degree will train you to…
Identify, design, analyze and manufacture medicines, as well as to formulate and supply these products. We aim to build communication skills to interact with patients, to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, lend advice in pharmacotherapy, as well as getting acquainted with ethical and deonthological principles which inform professional practice.
