Introduction
I am planning on taking a vacation this summer, but I am not really sure where to go. I need your help. As you already know, the world we live in is a very diverse and complex place. There are hundreds of countries in the world, all with their own physical and cultural characteristics. I need you to help me decide where to take my vacation by researching a foreign country and showing me what life is like there.
Task
For this project, you will be working with a partner researching a country and creating an interactive poster on Glogster highlighting important facts and attractions about the country. When you are finished creating the poster, you will share your findings with the rest of the class.
Process
Step 1 Each group should select a country and research it by visiting
the following websites. http://www.wikipedia.org http://www.nationmaster.com/index.php http://www.countryreports.org/People/overview.aspx
These are only a few examples of websites you can use as a starting point to your research, there are many other websites available, both general and specific to your country. Please feel free to research additional websites and bring them to the attention of the class if they are helpful.

Conclusion
I would like to congratulate everyone on a job well done. Because of your hard work on this project, I learned a lot of new information about different countries throughout the world. One important thing to keep in mind is that the world continues to evolve and become more diverse. Because of this, it is good to have knowledge of other countries, because whether you realize it or not, we are becoming more like one another every day.

Mr. Borgia - Introduction
I originally made this WebQuest as a project in a graduate education class. This will be a lesson the students do in the middle of the school year when they already have a solid background in geography. For this lesson to be most successful, the students should have a background in the five themes of geography and various world cultures.
Learners
The learners are mostly ninth graders with a few tenth and eleventh graders possibly mixed in. They are both female and male high school students who may or may not have a geography background.
Standards
Pennsylvania Standards• 7.2.9.A – Explain the physical characteristics of places and regions
including spatial patterns of Earth’s physical systems.• 7.3.9.B - Explain the characteristics of places and regions by their
cultural characteristics. • 7.3.9.D – Explain the human characteristics of places and regions by
their economic characteristics
Resources
The internet is essential for this lesson. Additional resources that may help students include books,
maps, atlases, travel magazines, and posters. A computer lab would also be a big help to the students
because they do not have to worry about sharing a few computers in a classroom.
