reEPMA Functional Materials Seminar 2018
Functional PM Components in Next Generation Electric Cars
In the future more and more cars will have an electric drive system. The electrical cars of today are not taking benefit of the variety of functional materials that can be produced within powder metal processing. Potential materials that could be utilized include SMC, magneto caloric materials, thermo electric materials, porous heat pipes, permanent magnets, hydrogen carriers and fuel cell plates among many others.
The Functional Materials Seminar will be a workshop with the aim of increasing knowledge in this area to help build up a consortium of companies and universities producing and developing functional materials that can be used in an optimized electrical car. Industry experts will present the potential use of these materials in cars, followed up by a workshop preparing a consortium for a Horizon2020 application under the umbrella of EPMA.
The Functional Materials Seminar is organised by the EPMA, with support from the seminar steering committee.
