EuroFOX Newsletter
Welcome to Edition Number 1, May 2012
Welcome to the first EuroFOX newsletter, we will try to produce one on a bi-monthly basis and will cir-
culate to owners and EuroFOX associates and supporters, depending on how busy we are with support
and sales within the EuroFOX community.
We want to provide everyone with the latest news
and progress of the EuroFOX fleet, and as always,
contributions from you are very welcome.
In the fullness of time, probably starting summer
2013, we plan to have a EuroFOX flyin at our Oaksey
Park base. We’ll bring a marquee and BBQ, perhaps
even a quiz, and certainly a beer or two. Our aim is
to build a thriving Eurofox community and owners
club, and perhaps a future owner would be willing to
get involved in this newsletter publication. Please let
us have your feedback on our first effort……..
Our first UK customer (and tallest so far),
Dave Fairbrass, has just completed his
Eurofox 3K aircraft, and what a lovely job
he has made of it too. Dave started in
December 11 and has sent off his
paperwork to the LAA, which at the time of
writing has been accepted albeit with a few
minor clerical points to tidy up. Dave is
waiting by the letterbox everyday now for
his permit to test to come through from
the CAA/LAA. Well done Dave. We will
hopefully report next month on the first
flights from his strip near North Weald.
EuroFOX UK Approval G-CGYC
Full EuroFOX approval has been gained from the LAA and
BMAA as of March 2012. The LAA took just over 12
months, Francis Donaldson being a great supporter of the
aircraft. The BMAA project started in 2006, but the
original importer stopped or gave up for personal reasons.
It has taken us about 15 months to achieve Section S
approval with the BMAA. So if you want a tail wheel, nose
wheel, Glider tug, Microlight or LSA, the EuroFOX fits the
bill….
STOP PRESS……… The CAA issued formal clearance for a
permit kit built aircraft to tow gliders in a private and club
environment. We have been working hard with our friends
at the Banbury gliding club, the BGA and CAA to achieve
this first in aviation. The EuroFOX is the first aircraft in the
UK to achieve this approval in the gliding market. Our aim
is to provide low cost gliding opportunities to the glider
pilot community and also support youth coming into the
sport. Thanks to Peter and Roger at the Banbury club for
your efforts.

EuroFOX Newsletter
EuroFOX Aviation had a stand at this show, our first, and we were one of the few with 2 aircraft on
display. At times we were swamped with visitors, both curious and serious. Adrian aerotowed John
Marriott in his glider in from Bicester, they then did a couple of tugs for the onlookers, and aerotowed
John back the 50 miles to Bicester. Well done John and Adrian to be the first pilots to ever aerotow a
glider at this annual trade show. Our sincere
thanks go to EuroFOX supporter John
Marriott for providing and piloting the glider.
Adrian reported that at an 75-80 mph cruise
with a glider in tow, G CGYG purrs along at
4200 rpm, probably 13 L/Hr. Not at all bad,
and better than many traditional tugs that
can burn up to 70 L and hour. We were visited
by a few owners, thanks for popping in, did
we look cold? Probably because we were,
especially after sleeping in the trailer and car
on Saturday night! Maybe next year we will
treat ourselves to a hotel.
Later in May, Martin and Christine
Cawson will take delivery of their
microlight 2k aircraft, as will the first
glider tug (3K) which is going to Banbury
gliding club. We wish them all well with
their builds and photos may appear in the
next newsletter!!
Popham trade show
New deliveries
Jim Taylor, Gloucestershire (microlight 3K) and Nick
McCleod Aberdeen (LAA 2K) received their kits in April.
Both builds are well underway, however Nick struggles
to build whilst he is at work on the oil rigs! Probably
wakes up after dreaming he’s already finished. Good
luck to both of you, we look forward to reviewing the
finished results.
Please send any contributions or suggestions to Roger Cornwell or Adrian Lloyd, many thanks.
Next deliveries
Other news
The first UK EuroFOX G-JONX (below) that was the demonstrator back in 2006 when the then agent
started the qualification process, recently came up for sale on ebay now that full approval for the
EuroFOX has been granted. The new owner and pilot, Andrew South visited us on our Popham stand
proud of his new investment. Welcome Andrew. This early model differs slightly from today’s EuroFOX,
and we look forward to Andrews’s involvement in our community and supporting him.
By the way, if you did not see the write up on the EuroFOX
in the April MF magazine, this and other reviews are
available as a download on our website.
Next Exhibition We have a stand booked at Aeroexpo at
Sywell later in May. Hopefully the weather will allow us to
attend and it will be warmer than Popham.
