CONNECTONS

Photographs, sketches, and compositions from a semester abroad have been gathered here and given relevance through their connections. The order in which these visual artifacts have been arranged is a direct linear connection based on line, depth, light, shade, shadow, material, composition, framing, typologies, crossings, and many other things in many senses of the word. However, a web of connections emerge when the individual combines these two dimensional images with their own experiences. History, culture, opinions, and beliefs all shape the way each person will interpret these images and give them significance in their own web of connections. What the image evokes in an individual is a greater identifier than any time or location stamp. The significance of a semester abroad lies in the connections.
