Equine Therapy Intro Workshop

A one-day experiential workshop for adults who are interested in equine psychotherapy and how it could be applied to yourself and others. Equine therapy is often used interchangeably with Equine Assisted (or Facilitated) Psychotherapy and Learning (EFP/L, EAP/L). It utilises activities in the presence of horses to explore ways we see and relate to ourselves and others, our patterns of behavior, past experiences and survival strategies, as well as our gifts and strengths. This programme focuses on increasing our intuitive body intelligence (somatic experience) and how we can learn from listening and observing horses in our presence.

One Day Introductory Workshop This spring we offer an introductory workshop on equine assisted psychotherapy and learning. Learn about some key aspects of equine psychotherapy whilst experiencing what this means for you and your journey (past, present and future), your relationship with others and yourself with the gentle guidance of the horse. Participants will leave the course with more understanding of how to apply mindfulness, intuitive skills, boundaries, trust and gentle leadership in relation to yourself and others and situations going on in your life.

Learning Objectives • Self-awareness and mindfulness • Boundaries and trust • Energy and embodied listening • Empathy and gentle leadership skills • Problem Solving • Observation and feedback • Confidence and resourcefulness
