Vet Software Released in Two PhasesPhase I • Due for release 1st April 2011• “epoc Veterinary analyser” bottom right corner of login page

• “epoc Vet” top left corner of the screen

• “Dog Arterial”, “Dog Venous”, “Cat Arterial”, “Cat Venous”, “Horse Arterial”, “Horse Venous” and “Other” species as sample types

• We will remove the “Select tests to perform” tab when running tests

• Default animal ranges in administrator

• Vet card exclusion: Vet cards will only work with Vet sw and will not work with human software and vice versa

• Specific vet card lots produced

• Species on first screen

• Ventilator settings vet specific

Phasing-in New Software & Cards• Any card lot built before May 1st, 2011 will be

accepted by the new Vet software• If a customer still has old cards after they

upgrade, they will still work• Card lots built after May 1st will be vet specific

card lots• NOTE – the new vet cards will not work in the

old software – so cards built after May 1st require the vet software

How to Upgrade

• SD Card

• Host to Host

• EDM

SD Card Upgrade

• When upgrade due WVD will email distributors:

- Upgrade file

- Update note

- Instructions

1. Delete all files from SD Card

2. Save the Host software upgrade file (filename: “upgrade”) to SD card

3. Turn OFF the epoc Host

4. Loosen screws on back of Host

5. Slide the scanner bracket forward and up to release the barcode scanner

6. Remove barcode scanner

7. Remove Host from cradle

8. Insert the SD card into the Host’s SD Slot

9. Turn ON the Host

10. Log into the Host as administrator

User Id: administrator

Password: administrator

11. Select ‘Tools>Perform Upgrade>From SD Card’ & ‘Yes’

12. Verify correct software installed

13. Remove SD card

14. Re-assemble Host

Firmware• On occasions firmware upgrade (reader) also required• Upgrade firmware using upgraded Host• Log on as administrator, tap reader icon, select ‘configure’

Host to Host upgrade• Host #1 contains the newest version software• Host #2 contains requires upgrading

1. Turn ON the Hosts

2. Log onto Host #2 as administrator

User Id: administrator

Password: administrator

3. On Host #2 select

Tools>Perform Upgrade>From Host

4. Host #2 searches for other Hosts

5. Find and tap Host #1

6. Select upgrade from Host

Upgrade using EDM1. Save upgrade file to disc

2. Select epoc System>Host settings>Software update, select file, then verify & accept

3. Synch Host to EDM

4. Log on as administrator

5. Select Tools>Perform Upgrade>From EDM

6. Update complete
