Wind Power Solar Power
- Slide 2
- HYDROPOWER Hydropower [water power] Renewable It goes through a
dam and turns turbines to make energy. Dams cause animal habitat
floods. 3.3% is used throughout the U.S.
- Slide 3
- SOLAR ENERGY Solar power comes from the suns heat. We use solar
panels that take the suns heat and turns into electricity..1% of US
electricity comes from solar power. Takes away the suns heat. Is
renewable. Is a lot of money
- Slide 4
- GEOTHERMAL Geothermal comes from inside the earth. Costs a lot
of money to drill. The heat from below ground makes steam that
turns turbines. ___% of geothermal is used in US. It is not radio
active.
- Slide 5
- WIND POWER It comes from the uneven heating of the earth. It is
turned into electricity by a turbine. ___% of wind is used in US.
Wind is renewable. Disturbs wild life. Is a lot of noise.
- Slide 6
- NUCIEAR Energy inside an atom. The atom splits and makes
electricity. ___% is used in US.
- Slide 7
- BIOMASS Made out of natural waste. It is burned to create
electricity. 4% of us energy comes biomass. Very few refineries
Renewable
- Slide 8
- FOSSIL FULES It comes from dead plants and animals that died
millions of years ago. It is changed into electricity in a
refinery. 81% of us electricity comes from fossil fuels. It is
nonrenewable and takes millions of years to form. We have a lot of
it.
- Slide 9
- ENERGY TRANSFORMATION Many natural sources can be turned into
electricity. We did two experiments about wind and solar power. We
turned them into electricity.

- CONCLUSIONS I learned that natural resources can be turned into
electricity. I learned that some resources can be dangerous.
