What is...Exploring Life Skills?

• Explores life skills essential for young people now and in the future.

• Skills in applying basic academics, problem solving, decision-making, creative and critical thinking.

• Focuses on personal and social responsibilities with emphasis on the family.

• Explore career awareness and readiness for the 21st Century.

• Offered to grades 6th , 7th , and 8th once in middle school.

CHAMPS A behavior system.C= Conservation Can students talk to each other?

H= Help How do students get their questions answered? How do they get your attention?

A= Activity What is the task or objective? What is the end product?

M= Movement Can students move about?

P= Participation What does the expected student behavior look and sound like? How do students show they are fully participating?

S= Success If students follow the CHAMPS expectations, they will be successful.

NWMS School-wide Guidelines

Students shall:

1. Comply with established NWMS dress code guidelines.

2.Be on time for class.3. Bring all materials to class: agenda,

paper, pencils, books, notebooks, gym clothes.

4. Follow all NWMS and WSFCS rules.

• You are responsible for make-up work.

• Bathroom needs: raise hand with signal/only “3” at one time.
