OBJECTIVES 1. To bring together local and foreign experts to catalyse and to share
advanced knowledge in agriculture extension; 2. To enhance efforts on the importance of empowerment among
agri-food stakeholders in facing global challenges towards sustainability of food security ;
3. To facilitate co-operation among key agri-food stakeholders in the area of agricultural extension and development;
4. To serve as a platform for sharing experiences among agriculture communities
TOPICS The AGREX’17 will highlight agricultural extension encompassing farming, livestock, fishery, food and agro-based industries and others. International Conference on Agricultural Extension (AGREX) is a conference which has been organized since 2008. The previous conferences have been very successful in bringing together various stakeholders involved in agriculture extension. AGREX'17 carries the theme "Empowering Knowledge to Communities, Enhancing Food Security". It is hoped that the conference can be an effective platform to share efficient ways to extend knowledge in agronomic techniques and skills to rural communities in a systematic and participatory manner in order to increase production and income; and finally to achieve food security for the nation. We welcome academics, researchers, policy makers, extension practitioners, industrialist , venture capitalist, entrepreneurs, and students to share their views and experiences.

Prof. Itagaki Keishiro: Faculty of International Agriculture and Food Studies, Tokyo University of Agriculture, Japan. Professor Itagaki has conducted research on agricultural and rural development as well as international cooperation in Asia. He is also involved in agricultural development economics and international agricultural development. In AGREX’17, Professor Itagaki will deliver his keynote address entitled “Enhanced Role of Small Farm in View of Sustainable Model for Agriculture”.
Prof. Emeritus Dato' Dr. Sulaiman Md. Yassin: As an experts in Malaysia especially on communication & extension education, social development and livelihood quality. Currently, his research interests include the measurement of quality of life and well-being, sustainable livelihood pathways and happiness index development. He is an Inter-Country Coordinator in developing an ASEAN Modular Programme, funded by the Australian Government and ASEAN. Also a trustee of the Yayasan Basmi Kemiskinan (Poverty Eradication Foundation) since 1995 as well as a Trustee of the American Alumni Malaysia Foundation and Yayasan Pengaman Malaysia (Malaysian Peace Foundation).
