Effect of Rainfall on Tree Stability

Data acquisition system with solar powered source

The objectives of this study are1.To determine the infiltration

characteristics of soil and hydrological conditions of instrumented sites.

2.To determine the effects of rainfall pattern and soil properties on the anchorage of trees.

3.To develop models to identify the threshold values of soil water content.

4.To develop recommendations and guidelines to minimize tree failure due to uprooting under conditions of prolonged high water content in soil.
