Trustee Message
Welcome!
The new frontiers of Engineering have a significant impact on the future directions of these disciplines. I believe that in order to meet the challenges of the 21st century, it is important to educate future engineering and management professionals to think across different subject areas.
At NIST, we are alert to students feedback and requirements and try to incorporate them into our overall academic programme. However, the main driver of our programme is our passion to examine and implement new methods and new technology in order to transmit knowledge of the highest standard.
NIST meets the educational, intellectual, social and physical needs of all its students. In the years gone by we have successfully met the challenge of supporting our students in their efforts of achieving the knowledge and skills that will enable them to take their place in the world of work and higher education. The College simultaneously promotes personal development and collaborative learning in an environment of intellectual experimentation.
Success depends on a positive attitude, willingness to shoulder responsibilities and adjusting to strategic changes. There are no shortcuts to hard and smart work as the theory of Karma teaches us. Give the world the best you can and the best will come back to you.

constraints imposed upon car engines is by
technological advances designed to (1)
minimize pollutant emissions, (2) maximize
engine efficiency, and (3) optimize tolerance to
a wider variety of fuels. A sense of direction for
such advances is derived from a critical
assessment of the fundamental advantages of
reciprocating I.C. engines as prime movers for
automobiles, and the review of their recent
developments. On this basis it is shown that
major impact in this respect could be made by
control1ed combustion. Intrinsically, this
should involve proper handling of active
radicals, the essential elements of the
combustion reaction. Practically, this can be
achieved by a variety of means, such as charge
stratification, exhaust gas recirculation,
homogeneous lean burn, combined with
enhanced ignition and enhanced auto-catalysis.

The aim of conducting this day is to make the juniors

of the juniors. To welcome them to the department and
make them feel at home, the institute organizes a

their graduation from the schooling days. “A hundred
new faces, but a million dreams” is what this occasion
can be best described as. Welcoming these hundred
odd a bright faces to an unchartered ocean of
knowledge…fear and anxiety are bound to creep into
these novice minds. The Fresher’s Day at NIST sees an
amalgamation of students from various walks of life,
from various regions of the country with a common
goal. It’s a subtle effort to make their celebrations big,
nurture their dreams and deliver words of wisdom. The
college realizes the importance of this day in the life of a
fresher and takes this as an opportunity to make them
feel at home, even though away from home, to imbibe in
them the faith that they are not alone. The event
provides a platform for the Freshers interact with the

importance of rangoli. Rangoli is a coarse powder obtained by pounding a cleavable and lustrous mineral (shirgola). In the Konkan region (near Maharashtra and Goa states in India) the husks of rice are burnt and the white ash obtained is used as rangoli. Rangoli is derived from the Sanskrut word ‘rangavalli’. Rangoli is an art which precedes sculpture and painting. It is both an auspicious and a preliminary necessity in any religious ritual. It is a custom to draw rangoli at the site of any auspicious religious ritual such as a holy festival, a religious festival, an auspicious function like wedding, ritualistic worship, a vowed religious observance, etc. The two aims of drawing rangoli are revelation of beauty and the acquisition of auspiciousness. The forms drawn in the rangoli are symbolic. A curved line produces a better effect of beauty than a straight one. Usually it is women who draw rangoli. They do not require any devices such as a ruler, a thread, a brush, etc. to draw them. They freely move their fingers to create various shapes with ease.
