EBSCOhost Page Composer

Tutorial

Welcome to EBSCO’s Page Composer tutorial. Page Composer is a web page creation tool in EBSCOhost. Simple web pages are a great way to share your EBSCOhost results with others. We’ll begin by logging in to My EBSCOhost, to access your personalized folder and the Page Composer program. If you do not already have a personalized folder, click on I’m a new user to create one.

Let’s perform a search on SAT Scores to produce a Result List. Select the results you would like included on your web page by clicking on the Add to folder link to the left of the relevancy ranking bar.

Once clicked, the link will read Remove from Folder. Access your folder contents by clicking on the folder icon found at the top of the screen or on Folder View on the right sidebar.

After opening your personalized folder, click on Web Pages, select Page Composer, name your page and click Continue.

For helpful ideas on how to design a web page, click the Web Page Examples link. Click on a title link for a closer look. To return to your work area, click on the Edit Web Page link.

After entering text in the text field, choose your desired font type, size and, color, then click on Add to Web Page. Your text information will move to the Page Elements area at the bottom of your screen, for

future editing.

To post items saved in your folder to this newly-created web page, click on Folder Item and mark the check box of those you wish to include. Click on Add to Web Page.

Editing is simple using the pen icon in the Page Elements section of your screen. Click on the element you wish to change, perform your edits, then click Update Web Page to save your changes.

To add a Search Box and text which will appear above it on your new page, click on the Search Box icon, enter your desired wording, then click on Add to Web Page.

Click on Background to view the many background choices available for your web page; click on the radio button under your choice, and select whether to fill the page with the background, or fill the page

with the background and the text with color.

Click on the Preview link to view your page at any time during the build process. Your completed web page can be e-mailed, downloaded, or copied using these links. Once you have performed any of

these functions, you can return to your folder by clicking on the Back to Folder link.

When previewed, your completed web page will open in a new window.

At any time during your session, you can click on the Help link to view the complete online Help system. All topics on the left are active links that can be printed as handouts. You may also visit the EBSCO Support Site at support.ebsco.com to browse the Knowledge Base of FAQs, download Help Sheets or User

Guides, view additional tutorials, or see what’s new in Top Stories. This concludes the EBSCOhost Page Composer tutorial.
