Catholic Charities Appeal
The Annual Catholic Charities Appeal has begun. Over the past couple of weeks, parishioners have been receiving the Appeal information, in the mail. The theme of this year's appeal is, “Feed the Hungry, Shelter the Homeless, Comfort the Sorrowful, In His Name... It's what we do.” This annual appeal is a way in which we can all work together to support the apostolates and ministries of the Church that do so much to care for those in need, in our community. Catholic Charities is among the most cost efficient charities: 93 cents of every dollar contributed goes directly to the apostolates funded by the Appeal! In 2014, our parishioners contributed $45,074.00 to the annual Catholic Charities Appeal. Our goal is to meet and surpass this total in 2015. During the appeal, our secretaries will be in the Faith Formation Office to receive and register your contributions. We invite you to prayerfully consider to, if you are able, increase your donation, this year. Parishioners are encouraged to return their donations as soon as possible. This will save the parish postage costs for the Second “reminder” Mailing. Thank you, very much, for your contribution to this year's Appeal, which helps so many in our community.
A Note from the Pastor I would like to thank everyone who did so much to make the parish events of this past weekend so special. The Our Lady of Fatima Mass and Procession were beautiful. It was an honor to have Msgr. Victor Vieira celebrate the Saturday evening Mass and lead the celebrations for us. It was so nice to see so many parishioners participating in this annual tradition, as well. I have received many good comments and complimentary remarks in regard to Bishop DaCunha's Pastoral Visit to St. Anthony's Parish. We were blessed to have Bishop DaCunha celebrate Mass for us and deliver such an uplifting message of God's love. The bishop expressed gratitude for the warm welcome we gave him. He, also, spoke of the beauty of our church, parish hall and grounds. Coming together, as a parish family, made these events as beautiful and meaningful as they were. May the Lord continue to bestow his choicest blessing upon St. Anthony's Parish.

Prayer for Persecuted Christians
Please join in us in praying this prayer for Persecuted Christians around the world Father in Heaven, you make your Sun
Shine on good and bad alike. Your Son
Jesus Christ died for us all and in His glorious Resurrection He
still retains the five wounds of His passion. With His divine
power He now sustains all those who suffer the persecution and
martyrdom for the sake of their fidelity to faith of the Church.
Merciful and mighty Father, do not allow Cain to return
again to murder helpless Abel, innocent Abel.
May persecuted Christians around the world remain, like Mary,
their Mother, together at the foot of the cross of Christ the Martyr. Comfort those menaced by violence and those oppressed
by uncertainty. May your Holy Spirit of love make fruitful the
witness and the blood of those who die forgiving. Amen.
Prayer Line We have begun a "Prayer Line" here at St. Anthony's Parish. You may call our parish secretary, Regina Medina and explain to her, your prayer need, she will then call the next person on the "Prayer Line" who will, in turn, call the next person and so on. This is a way of guaranteeing that your intentions are being remembered in prayer.
Prayer Basket We have placed a basket in front of Our Lady's Altar, in the
sanctuary of the church. Please place your written petitions for
yourselves, your loved one, the community and our world, in the
Prayer Basket. Your petitions will be remembered in our prayers.
The English Prayer Group meets on Monday afternoon 1:30pm 3:30pm to in
the Parish Hall. For more information, please contact Mrs. Mary Leite. All are welcome!
