New Players Co-Ed Hockey / Thank Kasey! A special thanks to Kasey Merkley for running the Friday/Sunday Night Co-Ed Hockey sessions!
Based on their work, Kasey and her merry band have generated strong interest from players of the Friday/Sunday sessions to join the Eagles Rec Hockey League.
Tell Your Friends / We Like New Skaters! If you know a grizzled hockey veteran who is waiting to dust off their skates or someone who cannot tie their skate...yet….like me, the League is always welcoming players.
If you have a buddy, coworker, or even sworn arch-rival, please let us know and direct them to contact the League at the following email:

Letter from El Presidente
To the League
We are only a few weeks away from Registration for the 2018/2019 Season. It is our goal this year to have
Registration be “normal” and make some improvements
Registration
As stated in the Newsletter, Registration will be the Wednesday and Thursday after Labor Day. In term of “normal,” ex-
pect to show up at the FOE, sign up; get your ID picture taken (try not to break the camera); hang out with Teammates;
and maybe have a frosty beverage.
In making Registration happen this year, the Board would like to recognize two people.
The first is Kasey Merkley who has been working with Joe and the League for the past years to make Registration Nights
go smoothly. She will be here this year to keep us in order.
The second person is Ken Dupree. Ken has taken control of ID Cards production. Ken has conducted research to find a
better ID Card Printer, and he will be responsible for all ID production and replacement this year. Additionally, we have
posted information around IDs in this news letter (pricing for new and replacement cards as well as how to inquiry for a
replacement)
Improvements
As a Board, we are looking for opportunities to improve the League and here are a couple of highlights thus far.
Goalie Discount – Hockey games can be a little stressful when a Goalie is not available….Also,
we tend to like Goalies. As a result, The League has changed the Goalie discount for League
Fees from 20% to 50%! To the Goalie: “Thank you!” Also, please make sure you don’t spend the
extra cash on frivolous purchases that could distract you in the game
Updated Rules – The League rules have not been updated since 2011 (to place in context we
had two Winter Olympics since 2011)….So the Board has taken time to review and update the
ERHL rules. We have highlighted some of the bigger rule changes within this newsletter. How-
ever, we encourage you to check out the website to review the complete set of rules. Here is the
Link
Growth – For our League to flourish, we need to continue to grow by welcoming brand new players to the sport as well as
motiving those who know how to play to return and have some fun. Based on Kasey Merkley’s Friday Night Co-Ed Drop-
In Hockey (here is the Facebook Link), the League has received enough interest to organize a new team! Please contin-
ue to introduce new players to Kasey’s program and to the League.
So to wrap this up, we are looking forward to seeing you at registration and have a great August!
