Clever, Click Safe Code. Its just three simple things we want you
to remember, to help keep you safe when you go to your favourite
websites each day.

- Did you know it is illegal to have a Facebook account if you
are not 13 yet? If you have got a Facebook account, you lied about
your age when you set it up or If your parents set it up for you,
then it is their job to supervise you at all times when you are
using your account and it should be registered to their e mail
account. Make sure your privacy settings are set to keep all
details private.

- Did you know? If you post a photograph on facebook and you have
50 friends. If all your friends like your photograph and they have
50 friends each 2500 people have seen your photograph, could copy
your photograph and use your photograph. Once photographs have been
placed on the internet (facebook etc) you have no control over
them.

- ZIP IT Keep your personal stuff private and think about what
you say and do online.

- Remember that people online may not be who they say they are.
Online friends are still strangers even if you have been talking to
them for a long time.

- Dont share personal information online including your full
name, photos, addresses, school information, telephone numbers and
places you like to spend time. Make sure you have set privacy
settings to restrict access to personal information also disable
location on tablets and phones as this can tell whoever you are
speaking to exactly where you are.

- Always use a nick-name instead of your real name. Use an avatar
instead of your real picture. (Remember last summer we created some
avatars in school)

- DONT GIVE PEOPLE YOUR PASSWORD! Change your password regularly,
just in case somebody guesses it and begins to access your
account.

- Always delete emails from people you dont know, and dont open
attachments from people you dont know. They might be nasty or have
a virus that can stop your computer working.

- If someone is mean or sends nasty messages online, block them.
Cyber bullying is very real and very upsetting it is no different
to usual bullying. Research shows that most children have been
involved in cyber bullying in some way, either as a victim or
perpetrator or bystander. It can quickly spiral out of
control.

easier to communicate in lots of different ways. But DONT get

someones face because you know it would hurt their feelings. Dont

as hurtful as the words that come from your mouth.

or if someone asks to meet you offline.
